Cellai seems already very far away. But we often think back to the beautiful time we have in the breath-taking castello! It is really an unique place you can call your own. I especially enjoyed the wind in the trees that moved the leaves in front of the starry sky... But also the flat itself, the chats with the neighbors, the talks with Francesco, wonderful! So to your review:

"We spent about 6 month in the Palm Courtyard apartment, from spring to autumn 2017. We had a wonderful time in this century old place, surrounded by nature, beautiful views and delicious foods. We have two little children (3 and 5 years old) and the apartment and the protected palm courtyard were the perfect playground for summer. Also the beautiful wood work was a highlight and made the apartment even more special."

I just spent 4 months in Francesco and Cid's Tower Studio (having a sabbatical at EUI in Florence). What a great place they have and what great home owners they are!

I only have positive things to say. The house's situation on a Tuscan hill is just fantastic. Furnishing is tasteful. The garden is great.

And, Francesco and Cid are extremely nice and helpful home owners. They are reactive and friendly. Cid once came opening my front door at 1.30 am in the morning because I could not get in (door was stuck). It was, of course, raining.

In a nutshell: a can fully recommend this house.

Tucked away in the Chianti wine region," Il Castello" felt like we were living out of a Tuscan coffee table book with beautiful views in every direction. The owners were incredibly helpful with everything from car hire to emergency laptops & Italian kindergartens. A lovely place to get away but an easy & scenic bus trip into Florence. We rented the Tower study for 3 months, with our two children, and I did a full time Italian language course in Florence while the kids went to a local play school in the little village. The apartment was spacious, sunny and well furnished, with everything we needed. I'd highly recommend this. Karen Baker. Excellent Karen Baker 12/28/2013 3:00:00 AM
A wonderful stay at Villa Ciarpaglini

Our six month stay in Cellai, in the Tower Study Unit, will remain as one of our fondest memories of Italy. Perfectly placed on a hill in beautiful Tuscany, just 18 kilometres from Florence, and close to all the wonderful Chianti villages and vineyards, the villa was just as we had imagined. The unit has two large double bedrooms and one single bedroom, a large study/computer room/extra bedroom, and a great lounge and Kitchen area. The sunroom in front of the bedrooms gives one a view out over the magnificent countryside. Waking up every day and taking in the vistas and sounds of this place was a treat in itself. Everything was abundantly provided and we were made so welcome Our hosts, Cid and Francesco, were wonderful, keeping us informed of events and the weather and reacting immediately to any of our problems or concerns. We cannot thank them enough. During our stay, we had many visitors from Australia and England and they loved the stay. How could they not. We made friends with the locals in the cafes and restaurants and lived the “Italian Lifestyle” We always knew Italy would be wonderful. Staying at Villa Ciarpaglini ensured our stay was one to remember for the rest of our lives. We will return.

"When I think back on my eight months at historic Castello Bisticci, three words come to mind: peaceful, timeless, and stress-free. Peaceful because Castello is located on the side of a mountain with a glorious view across the Val d'Arno to the imposing Prato Magno massif with no traffic noise, just quiet neighbors, palm trees, wisteria, and birdsong. Timeless because Castello dates to the 10th century -- it has limitless character, and I've often wondered about the lives of the people who walked these stone floors centuries before me. And stress-free because proprietors Cid and Francesco responded promptly to my every need and introduced me to locals with common interests. For three months of my time here, I commuted to Firenze for language and art history classes, using either the regional bus that stops in the nearby village of Cellai or the train from the town of Rignano sull'Arno, 10 minutes away by car. The drive to Firenze, 15 km to the west, takes just under 30 minutes. The villa is well sited for day-tripping, being midway between two exiits on the A1 autostrada. And if you're a wine buff, you're in luck: Castello is located in the northern part of the Chianti region, and you can reach the heart of Chianti Classico in 20 minutes. It's hard to imagine my great Italian adventure taking place anywhere else!" Excellent sarah m 6/5/2012 12:47:00 AM
