I stayed in Cristina's studio for ~2 months, January-February 2019. The photos are very accurate - it's a beautiful space that is very lovingly decorated to have a minimalist, zen but still cozy atmosphere. I came here primarily to do some writing and found it very conducive for that. This is a converted loft space and the windows overlooking the street are glazed, so there isn't a 'view,' but there is lots of natural light coming through from the courtyard, which is very lovingly maintained and creates the sense of a private, thoughtful retreat. The location is wonderful if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city; a 20 minute train ride takes you right into the heart of Barcelona, but Cristina's apartment offers a quiet escape. I loved exploring the surrounding hills and small villages, in walking distance or a quick train ride away. The small organic grocery store that is one train stop away stocks all the basics, or you can take the train in to Barcelona to easily access supermarkets with greater selection. Note that there is no oven in the kitchen, but there is a stovetop/hob, refrigerator and sink, and this was fine for my purposes. During my stay, there were a couple of small issues with wifi and a leak in the bathroom, and these were very promptly addressed. Cristina also was in contact to help me get oriented to Barcelona, and sent me instructions to get a local SIM card, how to get to multiple grocery stores, etc. - so helpful! One important item to note is that in winter, the heat needs to be supplemented with the wood stove in the apartment; this was a learning opportunity for me! I was glad that I was able to learn this skill here - but if you are uncomfortable with the idea of wood stove heat, this may not be the ideal place for you for Dec-March; however, I don't think it would be an issue in other months. Cristina was very responsive, and had a neighbor looking after the place while she was away, who was always available and very helpful and kind. I felt genuinely well looked-after at Cristina's place. Happy to recommend this space for someone who wants a unique, thoughtful space a bit outside of Barcelona, but still very accessible to all of the sights. Excellent Aimee B. 10/29/2019 3:07:00 PM
