HIGHLIGHTS
A large apartment in a central and popular area with plenty of space for families or couples. The apartment was recently renovated and has all you need for a comfortable stay, and more. There are three bedrooms with beds for up to seven adults and additional beds for children when needed. The living room has a dining table with space for at least 8 people, a smart-TV and a spectacular view over practically the whole city and its surrounding mountains.
You will have the opportunity to fully enjoy the great view also from your private glass-covered balcony. The evening view is breathtaking.
Løvstien hiking road is right in front of the door, for families with small children there is a mountain buggy free to use.
GREAT LOCATION
The home is in a central location which is often referred to as "Damsgårdssundet" or "Solheimsviken". The whole area around this bay has recently been (re-) developed and become a central business and administration center in the city.
Yet, it is still a calm neighbourhood with mix of single housing and apartment buildings - with new and old built structures next to each other.
GETTING AROUND/CONNECTEDNESS
You can easily just walk to most of Bergen's higher education institutions (University of Bergen, BI business school, Western Norway University of Applied Sciences/HVL) and many other workplaces (Damsgård area, Kronstad).
If you prefer not to walk, electric scooters for rent from different brands are all around the place.
If you do need to take the bus, city bus no 10. stops right below the apartment and takes you directly, within around 10 minutes, to and from the central Bus station/Trainstation/Fishmarket for instance. Frequent departures.
FOOD&HANGOUTS
Several different supermarkets are nearby - the closest are REMA1000 Gyldenpris and SPAR Karensfryd (5-10min by foot) or a little further away there is also Kiwi, Bunnpris, Matkroken.
There are several cafés and restaurants in the neighbourhood (i.e. Damsgaardrestaurant; SUMO sushi/Asian food; Colonialen Café; Bergen Kaffebrenneri; Pizzabakeren; JAJA Solheimsviken etc.).
EQUIPMENT
The kitchen is fully equipped with all you need to prepare your meals. It includes a dishwasher, a combined refrigerator, a cooking place, an oven, a micro wave, a coffee maker and more. You will have free access to a laundry room located in the basement with washing machine and tumble dryer (this is a shared space, where you reserve a time slot according to your preferences). You are also welcome to use the roof terracce which is a huge area on the top of the building.
THIS IS INCLUDED
Bed linens and towels are included, and beds will be prepared upon your arrival. Wireless internet and cable TV channels (basic Norwegian and a few international channels) are included in the rental price. The apartment has a modern heating system (radiators from 2019) and a balanced ventilation system for good air quality and stable temperature at all times. Heating according to your preferences and use of electricity is also included in the rental price.
KIDS WELCOME
The apartment, and the surroundings are very child-friendly and secure. All windows in the apartment are new and child-secure. For younger guests, several toys will be provided, such as wooden trains, puzzles, play kitchen and more. Furniture (beds, chairs) and other equipment is available, even a mountain buggy urban jungle if you want to use that. There is a generous space to play right outside the door, and playgrounds are not far away.
