Located on a quiet, tree lined street in a friendly residential neighborhood. Berkeley's extensive network of bike paths are located 1 block away. You won't need a car, but there is abundant free street parking if you have one! Zip Car is an easy walk away.

Easy walking distance to Bart, grocery stores, cafes, and downtown Berkeley. One mile safe walk or bike ride to UC campus, with easy public transit.Owner lives 5 miles away and is responsive to guest's needs while respecting privacy. The duplex is a full time rental unit, so the closets and dressers are empty - not crammed with the owner's personal belongings.

• Beautifully updated and well maintained 1927 two story Craftsman duplex, surrounded by private walled garden. The unit is approximately 900 sq. ft. The unit is completely furnished, including linens and kitchen equipment. On request, the unit may be rented on a partially-furnished basis.

The large redwood deck is accessed through the kitchen door, with private seating areas for each of the duplex units. Serene, beautifully landscaped backyard and brick patio is shared by both units, as well as the building's laundry room. Covered bike parking racks in the backyard.

• 1st level has living room, kitchen, dining room, bathroom, laundry room, deck.
• 2nd level has two bedrooms - the larger bedroom has a queen bed with Keetsa brand mattress and smaller closet, the smaller bed room has a choice of one double bed or twin beds, larger closet, and overlooks the garden.

Cats are welcome, small well behaved dog considered
For those with pet allergy concerns, there have been no pets in this unit for over 2 years

This friendly neighborhood has a mix of young families and established residents. Families enjoy San Pablo Park and Grove Park, both offering playgrounds, tennis and basketball courts, soccer fields, and picnic areas. The South Berkeley Library is a quick stroll and next to a delicious Sunday brunch spot at the Thai Temple. Coffee is close by at Mo Joe Cafe or grab some lunch at Homemade Cafe. Berkeley Bowl is very convenient for groceries too!

I am a busy professional woman in my early sixties, and a graduate of UC Berkeley. I love to travel, and enjoy having international guests at my beautiful home. My duplex and gardens have been my "labor of love" since I bought the building back in 1998. I have spent the last 20 years completely upgrading and improving the property, and my guests have all loved staying here!

Rebekah was great to work with. She helped me find a short term rental in Berkeley while I was still back East. Even did a walkthrough on her cell phone with me. Everything was as expected and ready when I moved out to Berkeley - she handled everything with the owner of the apartment. My security deposit was returned promptly when I moved out - even sent me a second check when I accidentally ripped the first on.
