CHARMING LARGE FULLY FURNISHED IN-LAW IN BERKELEY HILLS

This is a charming one bedroom in law apartment that has a completely separate entrance and private garden. It is fully furnished including linens: "suitcase ready". Large living room, bathroom and a beautiful sun room overlooking the garden which is solely space for the tenant. With permission guests are welcome to plant herbs or veg. in a raised garden. The kitchen is fully equipped and there are 2 closets one of which is as large as a room. The house is in the Berkeley hills and is walking distance from Tilden Regional Park, the Berkeley Rose Garden, Solano Avenue shops and the famous "Gourmet Ghetto." There is a bus (the #65) stop one block from the house. 10 minutes to the BART station, 7 minutes to North Gate. Free laundry. It is ideal for visiting scholars. The apartment is close to nature, super shopping/eating, the famous Monterey Market and surrounding small stores that sell organic meats, fish, cheese, and wine. This shopping area also has another Berkeley institution: Berkeley Horticulture. Biker's paradise. Both the University and the Lab are nearby. House is on the steepest hill in Berkeley. Car would be good for groceries, road trips, etc. The house is on a steep hill, so, lots of stairs. Very quiet. Considered best micro-weather in Berkeley.

Untilites: EBMUD and PGE are divided according to how many people live in the apartment. I live alone. I pay for everything else.

About Me
I am a political economist. After receiving my Phd from Harvard's Department of Government I accepted a job at UC Berkeley's Department of Political Science, where I teach in the fields of political economy of development, Middle East politics and Post-Fordism. My first book was squarely in the political economy genre (The Price of Wealth: Economies and Institutions in the Middle East, Cornell 1997). The book I am now finishing is an economic ethnography set in Istanbul. I have traveled extensively for a variety of reasons. My field work has included Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Algeria, Turkey, India and Pakistan, among other places.
