1 BR + LOFT CONDO IN DOWNTOWN BERKELEY, CA WALK TO CMPUS, $3000 mth

The FloCondo is an artist’s studio transformed into an “urban cottage” in downtown Berkeley, minutes' walk to the University as well as within easy reach of the Gourmet Ghetto, Arts District and downtown movie theaters.

This one-bedroom & loft comes with all utilities included, plus its own enclosed parking space (with separate code for entry to the garage and from the street to the apartment area). Within the apartment, handcrafted furniture and artistic elements mix with found objets to offer a confluence of styles that represent the coolest in eco-urban chic. From the living room’s almost two-story front window overlooking University Avenue the sun pours in during the day and you can see Oakland, San Francisco, and the sleek new Bay Bridge extension.

The main bedroom contains a double-bed, floor-to-ceiling book shelves and a large closet. Another, even larger closet is in the living room. Upstairs, the loft has a built-in platform bed with futon, useful for occasional visitors, and a bookcase and writing desk, perfect for a Visiting Professor or graduate student.

The kitchen has all necessary amenities and there is, of course, a bathroom and shower. All linens, towels, etc are provided.

The building itself is constructed to current environmental and earthquake standards, and includes a large patio area open to all residents, with a gas-fired barbecue in place. From the top floor, where our apartment is located, you can see the San Francisco Bay and Mount Tamalpais and enjoy the fabulous Berkeley sunsets. The building is also wheelchair-friendly. A washer and dryer for use by tenants are available on the ground floor.

About Me
We are a husband and wife team who live in the Berkeley hills and own a downtown apartment, near the University, which previously served as the designer partner's studio. We have rented to Cal visitors for the past 10 years, with consistent high commendations. We love Berkeley for many reasons, not least its vibrant intellectual and cultural life, and we think you will too. Packed with plenty of things to do in its own right, it is also an ideal location to enjoy the delights of Northern California from San Francisco to Monterey to Napa, Point Reyes, Yosemite...we'll stop there. You get the picture.
