One mile from UC Berkeley, this is a two bedroom delightful fully furnished in-law in North Berkeley, located in the heart of a gorgeous Berkeley neighborhood. Easy walk to campus through quiet residential neighborhood and to ample shopping district (home to Chez Panisse, the Cheeseboard, and a lot of other great spots). The home is a beautiful 1908 craftsman home that has been seismically retrofitted.

Utilities included: Water, trash, wifi.

Washer/Dryer in the unit (does NOT share with home upstairs), and all new appliances... Queen size bed in one room, Bunk Beds in another. Writing desks in both bedrooms. Television with Roku ( netflix, hulu, etc) provided. Wi-Fi provided via wireless or can set up own wifi.

Features a nice little enclosed back patio great for morning coffee and dining outside. Ample closet space. Numerous parks, restaurants, grocery stores, and cafes all within walking distance. Timed around the academic calendar preferred. The home above is occupied by a family of four (kids are 14 and 4). We have a an extremely friendly yellow lab (Emily) who doesn't bark and is great with kids and visitors.

Bathroom has a claw foot tub and shower, and bathroom is split ( toilet is in its own little room). Parking is very safe and there is on-street parking, both permitted and non-permitted are available ( permitted parking requires the car be registered in CA, but 2-3 block away is plenty of non-permitted and safe parking). By CA law the in-law and yard is Non-Smoking.

The neighborhood is safe and bustling, mildly upscale but populated with lots of active people and has a friendly feel to it. Being able to walk from our house and get to all the best spots from Peets Coffee to the Cheeseboard is a real advantage, not to mention two amazing parks, tennis courts, grocery stores, movie theaters, and more. Walking distance from great Thai, Pizza, Burgers, Crepes, Italian, Sushi, Japanese, Himalayan, and more..

Tenant must set up their own PG&E for gas and electric, or pay through owner if necessary. Usually tenants need some proof of residency for various reasons ( school, car, etc) and PG&E is the best way to establish that.

Deposit & Terms: we provide a standard CA lease and addendums for all short term rentals. Security Deposit of $1650.00 (1/2 months rent) and first months rent due upon rental agreement to hold apartment for all leases. Two written references required from tenant (employer / colleague / former landlord).

About Me
We are a couple in Berkeley with a 13 year old boy, a 3 year old girl, and a very friendly yellow lab named Emily. I am a musician and record producer by trade and my wife is currently a stay at home mom. We enjoy hosting tenants from all over and have always had great relationships with tenants and always include them in spontaneous dinners or the occasional party we have at our house. Kids are welcome and we have a great yard for kids to play in and two great parks within just a couple blocks. We travel occasionally as my wife is from France and we frequently travel within California. Feel free to ask any questions and we can provide references on request. Thanks!

We've been so happy living in this charming apartment while on sabbatical for a year. The owners, upstairs, are terrific landlords and the location is wonderful -- 20 min. walk to U.C., 5 min. to Shattuck. Kitchen well equipped, ample storage, great shower, desks in bedroom, printer.
