Charlottenburg, elegant and comfortable 3 rooms, 1,5 baths

The apartment is situated in a classic building from 1896 with high ceilings and lots of natural light in any kind of weather. It has recently been completely remodelled, carefully preserving all the original features from the parquet floors to the stucco on the ceilings, doors and windows with ornate brass handles and last not least a magnificent tiled oven. It is furnished with a tasteful mixture of antiques, modern design and art.

The bedroom faces a peaceful courtyard with tall trees. It has an en suite bathroom as well as an abundance of closet space. There is an additional guest bathroom off the hall.

The living room with comfortable sofa and chairs, a desk, TV and music equipment opens onto a cozy balcony overlooking the charming residential street with leafy trees and lots of little shops, cafés and restaurants. The perfect place for coffee in the morning or a drink at sunset.

Tall double wing doors lead to the spacious dining room with a large table and a magnificent tiled oven. This room could also be used as a study. The comfortable seating in the bay window is the perfect place to read or dream.

We provide a comfortable air bed for the occasional weekend guests.

The kitchen is fully equipped with Chef's Quality pots, pans and knives as well as all appliances including dishwasher, washer+dryer, food processor, coffeemaker and TV. It also has a cozy breakfast table.

This sophisticated apartment is perfect for a single person or a couple but not so suitable for children. Non-smokers only. It is located on the second floor (US third), an easy walk up, there is no elevator.

This has always been one of the most beautiful and desirable neighbourhoods in town. Once you live here you don't move away, people know each other and are helpful and friendly. The street has wide sidewalks, leafy trees, an abundance of cozy cafés and restaurants and small boutiques. All shopping for your daily needs, bakeries, delicatessen and a fabulous farmers market are close by. The area feels a little like Paris meets Berlin, urban and peaceful at the same time. Beautiful Lietzensee Park for walking, running or sitting in the grass and Kurfürsten Damm with it's high end stores and magnificent buildings are only a short stroll away.

You have excellent access to public transportation: S-Bahn Charlottenburg (overground, great scenic ride across town) is literally down the street and you reach several underground-lines and buses within a couple of minutes walk.

Utilities including TV and High Speed Internet amount to € 160 /month and will be added to the rent.

About Me
I'm a film director and have taught at Film Schools in Europe and the US for more than two decades. Together with my wife and children we spent several years on the East Coast of the US where I was a Guest Professor teaching directing and screenwriting. Currently we are living in Berlin after five years as a Dean of a Film School in Los Angeles. Our apartment in Berlin it is not the average rental but our home, furnished with furniture and art we have been collecting over many years. We are looking for people who enjoy this and treat it with respect. Since our children are grown, the apartment in Berlin is a second home only to the two of us and we treasure it. We would love to share it with people who feel the same. For our repeated stints in the US my wife and I found wonderful places to live via Sabbatical Homes and have had equally good experiences with our renters in Berlin.

Outstanding historic apartment in elegant, lively Charlottenburg. Quiet, spacious, inspiring,, superbly equipped and conveniently located on one of Berlin’s most beautiful streets, it provides the ideal way to experience the city: a gem in every way, and not to be missed. A Slice of Heaven in Charlottenburg

My wife and I were lucky enough to be accepted as tenants by the owner of this beautiful apartment in Charlottenburg, and we spent a wonderful ten months in it, which we’ll never forget. Every word in the ad is true: the building, an elegant altbau, is quiet and clean, the neighbors helpful, and the neighborhood the friendliest place in Berlin that we’ve stayed in. The rooms are elegant and a delight to be in, and the keynote of the apartment is comfort. The bed is luxurious, the living room an ideal space for reading and entertaining, and the kitchen a joy, full of high-end equipment. But best of all are the owner and his family. Every request of ours was attended to promptly, e-mails were replied immediately, and we were given a great deal of friendly advice about where to shop and eat in the area. The owner’s daughter was at the apartment to welcome us when we arrived, she helped us carry our bags in and introduced us to the apartment and explained how everything works. She even helped us find a doctor, and arranged a wonderful cleaning lady for us!

Don’t think twice about renting this place. It’s worth every penny of the rent – and more. I have never before encountered such a friendly, attentive and accommodating landlord. He’ll make your stay in Berlin utterly memorable. You’ll be fortunate indeed if he lets you into his little slice of heaven in Charlottenburg!
