TASTEFUL - SUNNY - COZY apartment next to historical park at Prenzlauer Berg - central with excellent connection in all directions of town

The apartment is bright and sunny, with five big windows facing south-east direction and a spacious balcony. It has wooden floors and doors. All furniture is new, partly handpicked design pieces, partly carpenter's work, made especially for the apartment. The apartment feels both, cozy and spacious. So it is perfectly suited as well for one as for two people. It consists of two rooms, that can be fused during daytime to form one large space. At night, by closing a large sliding door, the rooms can be divided again, so there is a separate living and sleeping room. You can also devide the rooms if you want to have e.g. two seperante office spaces. Both rooms are equipped with a large table good for working. The living room couch can be transformed into a comfortable double bed when having guests over. Kitchen and bathroom are freshly renovated. The bathroom has a large mirror, a nice shower/bathtub and a skylight. The kitchen has a seat and little counter at the window, which is very nice for having breakfast or afternoon tea/coffee. Equipment-wise, there should be anything there that you need (fitted kitchen with oven and Ceran cooktop, micro wave oven, toaster, water kettle, coffee machine, coffee mill, espresso maker, stirring staff etc.). In general, it simply feels very good to live in this apartment. We personally love it very much!

The apartment is located in the first back premises of a typical historic Berlin house ensemble, landmarked, built in 1897. The ensemble consists of several buildings, now all transformed into apartments, as well as some offices and artists' studios (no noisy business). Neighbors are generally very friendly, mostly couples and young families, many of them international & English speaking.

The apartment is located at Prenzlauer Berg in a short street, lined by trees, quiet, with hardly any traffic. The surrounding in contrast feels very urban, there is some big streets and large scaled modern apartment blocks as well as turn of the century and early 20th century housing (special attractions, see bellow). The area is very safe. Public transport in Germany generally is very good and you got excellent connection in all directions. It is a 3min walk to the tram, which takes you both north-south and east-west (M5, M6, M8, M10); or to the circle line (S-Bahn/Ringbahn), a subway train running above the ground all around central Berlin (good connection to airport and direct connection to central station). Also, there is bus connection (Bus 200 direct connection to historical center). You can reach e.g. Alexanderplatz, one of Berlin's central squares, in ca.7 min.; the historic city center/HU-University and other universities within ca.15 min. By car/taxi, it is even a little faster. Or, if you like, it is also possible to take the bike, which takes about the same time as public transport and is a popular means of transportation in Berlin.

Various grocery stores, also health-food-stores, are very close/within walking distance. What we really love about the location is the park, which is just 200 meters/yards down the street. Volkspark-Friedrichshain is one of Berlin's oldest and prettiest parks, with lakes, historic monuments, the famous fairy tale fountain, cafes, open air cinema, sporting facilities (for sport enthusiasts: there is also a sport center close by, offering badminton, table tennis etc. and a public indoor/outdoor pool.) What we love as well is Bötzowkiez, located next to the park, just a couple blocks away. It is an area with lots of art-deco-buildings, bookstores, cafes, small special stores (handmade furniture, design, etc.) and excellent international restaurants. However, in contrast to many other areas of Berlin, it has not been touristically over-exploited, but still has an authentic and very relaxed feeling to it.
