Charming Home in Historic Boalsburg minutes to PSU (3 bed/2 bath + office, utilities included)

Our newly renovated historic 1870s Victorian home maintains all of its historic charm with the modern updates that will make your stay relaxing and comfortable. The house has 3 bedrooms/2 baths, a large, open living/dining area, window-lined office and sitting room facing the back garden, and outdoor patio and grill. We are located in charming Boalsburg village, with restaurants, bars, shops and a park just around the corner. Close to downtown, we are minutes to the PSU campus and Beaver Stadium with CATA bus service and a stop right at the top of the street. A bike path is also accessible across the street from the village if biking to campus is preferred and there are tons of hiking trails nearby for weekend fun.

Our home is best for a family of four or fewer but sleeps 6 comfortably in 3 bedrooms- 2 with queen sized beds and 1 with a full sized bed. There are two full baths in the house and the upstairs bathroom has a separate tub and shower, and includes a sauna that adult guests may use. The large and sunny open concept living/dining space is perfect for family gatherings with a dining table that seats up to eight and a kitchen island with additional casual seating for 3. Our newly renovated kitchen with gas stove and stainless steal appliances is stocked up with dinnerware, cookware, and utensils that our guests are welcomed to use. The living room has a large sectional sofa, arm chair and flat screen TV with streaming capability. At the back of the house is an open, sunny sitting room and office that overlooks the garden, and there is a gas grill on the back patio to enjoy. We provide towels and cotton bedding. One large closet in the upstairs is available for guest use.

We have parking in our private driveway. Our back yard has a mature garden and fish pond that are a work in progress. The fish are fun to watch but we ask that you don't feed them (or swim with them!). Children and babies are welcome to come stay in our home with their parents but we can't provide a crib, high chair or other baby comforts so parents must bring their own. Gates for the stairwell can be provided with prior notice.

This is the perfect place to stay for folks looking to have easy access to University Park and State College and all of the Penn State amenities while enjoying a comfortable and tranquil escape in our historic village after a long day's work. Our home is less than 4 miles to Penn State University, and the Hills Plaza shopping center, grocery, beer, wine & liquor store, and CVS are just 2 miles down the road. Target, Wegmans, Trader Joes, and others are all a short drive away and highway 322 access point is a couple of blocks from the village. Perfect location and great community with lots of Penn State faculty as neighbors. Rent price includes all utilities and bi-weekly professional lawn service.

This party posted the following feedback for me:
'Professor P. has an excellent reputation among colleagues and friends as a man of kindness, character, and taste. His well-appointed home is the site of group dinners prepared by Professor P. himself. Living across the street from him, I have found him a warm and helpful neighbor. I would be delighted to stay in his home and recommend him without reservation to join the family of Sabbaticalhomes.com '

About Me
I hold degrees in Agroecology from the International University of Andalusia and in Forestry Engineering from the University of Cordova, Spain. I am currently an Assistant Teaching Professor at Penn State. I live in Boalsburg with my wife, who has a similar educational background and works in the environmental non-profit arena. We often travel the world exploring other cultures and ecosystems and are usually abroad over the summer term and during winter break. We would love to have a visiting scholar stay in our home while we are away.
