Cozy penthouse in center of the city, near the University of Bologna and Johns Hopkins University

Renting for long and short periods to careful and loving academics and graduate students. Mine is a nice and recently structured flat (2008) on the sixth and last floor of a 1960 building with elevator in the University sector of the city. It has wonderful views over old Bologna, the University tower, the tower of Asinelli, the hills behind the city, and the botanical garden of the University. Great light all year round. 70 square meters + huge open terrace (40 square meters) good for parties and barbecues. One master bedroom with king size bed, one sofa bed (queen size) in the living room, two bathrooms (one in the bedroom), live-in kitchen, dining area. Plenty of cabinet space. Completely furnished. Included WiFi, flat TV, DVD player and all utilities (except telephone). Hundreds of novels both in Italian and English for your leisure nights. Public transportation is 50 mts from the door, 5 minutes to the train station (10 minutes walking), plenty of shops, supermarkets and restaurants in the block. Literally minutes away from University, Johns Hopkins University, cinemas, opera house.

We stayed at Fabio’s apartment for a year, in 2016/2017.

We found the flat to be ideally situated in the northern section of the historic downtown, on a quiet street, steps from everything: two large parks, shops, weekend marketplace, popular local restaurants, supermarkets and the train station. Bologna’s best Asian specialty food store is down the block, as are numerous café’s, Pasticcerias, and a delicious vegetarian restaurant next door. It is ten-minute walk through pleasant old lanes to the Due Torri and Piazza Maggiore.

Everything in the apartment is new, clean, extremely comfortable, and in prefect working order. There is plentiful natural light and the top floor location keeps the street noise to a minimum. The huge terrace, with a retractable canopy, is a lovely place to hang out. A vista over roofs and the greenery is a rare feature in Bologna.

We appreciated more and more our relationship with Fabio, who is was a reliable, friendly and accommodating host. We are a couple with a three-year-old daughter and the house suited our needs perfectly. If we come back to Bologna, we want to live here again.

This 6th floor apartment (with lift) was perfect for my month in Bologna. It's very spacious, light and airy, and the air conditioners (3) were a blessing during a very hot August. All the amenities one could want were provided including an iron and ironing board (often lacking in other apartments). The apartment was spotless and well maintained, the wifi worked well and it was less than a 15 minute walk to the centre/ Piazza Maggiore/ train station. Supermarkets are less than 5 minutes away. Fabio was very accommodating when I had to change my dates - not once, but a few times. Thanks Fabio - I'll be back! Excellent Jillian 9/25/2015 10:20:00 PM
My friend and I stayed in Fabio's apartment for 2 weeks once before and we are returning to Bologna and to this flat for 2 more weeks in October 2015. The apartment is very comfortable, everything worked very nicely, Fabio was the most helpful when we had questions. We traveled a lot by train to different towns around Bologna and the location of the apartment is perfect - it's in the old town but not too far from the station. And the terrace, of course, was great to have our morning coffees! Excellent Tatiana 9/10/2015 1:40:00 AM
We had a great experience! The owner is a nice guy, very friendly and easy-going. The apartment is comfortable and modern, and a good size for a couple. It's on the top floor, so it was very quiet, and it has a well-supplied kitchen. It also has a fantastic terrace, which is actually somewhat bigger and prettier than it appears in the pictures.

It's also a good location! Convenient to the university, and many restaurants and groceries, and about 15 minutes walk to the station or to the Piazza Maggiore. The block it's on is not the prettiest, but it is just around the corner from Via Irnerio (a main commercial street) and near a charming area with lots of bars and cafes.
