We had an absolutely wonderful stay here for 5 weeks in February-March 2018. The apartment is beautiful and spacious - just as it appears in the photos, though the photos don't do it justice. High ceilings, a wonderful feeling of space. Both my husband and I were working while in New York, and we could work in the apartment at the same time without disturbing each other. We cooked at home most evenings, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable and we slept very well - not noisy at all on the street. Bathroom and sitting room are both functional - everything we needed. We went daily to both Brooklyn Heights and Manhattan; being on the A Line Express is super-convenient. Coming back in the evenings and even late nights is easy: it's a very short walk from the subway stop to the apartment. After the buzzy Manhattan days, the apartment was a really nice calm place to decompress. Kate was the perfect host; she is kind and thoughtful and gave us fantastic information about the neighbourhood (restaurants, etc) that we put to good use - lots of nice coffee shops and restaurants nearby. There is also a spare bed, which we used when family came to stay. A wonderful base for us while in New York - we would certainly stay again and cannot recommend more highly. I am very happy that I found the apartment on Sabbatical Homes and I can highly recommend it. It is located in a nice and quiet historic district in Brooklyn. It's a three minutes walk to the subway station from where you can reach the JFK Airport subway station in 20 minutes and Manhattan in 15 minutes (with the "A" express train). The apartment is on the third floor of a beautiful historic brownstone house, has a separate entrance and is very sunny and charming (with hardwood floors and folding shutters). It could easily accommodate more than two people, as it is very spacious and there is an additional sofa bed for two persons in the living room. The apartment is comfortable and well equipped (additional linen, towels, hairdryer, books about New York ...), and in the kitchen I found everything I needed for cooking. Kate and Brian were very welcoming and helpful and provided a small map with restaurants, coffeeshops and supermarkets that are close by (I particularly loved the Peaches restaurant). I spent a wonderful month in the apartment, and if I will ever return to New York I hope I can stay there again. Excellent Tina 12/8/2017 12:33:00 PM
