Big, Bright, Top Floor True One-Bedroom in Flatbush/Ditmas Elevator Building. Close to Prospect Park, Church Ave and Cortelyou Road

We are looking to sublet our quite large one-bedroom apartment in Flatbush/Ditmas for the summer. Exact dates are somewhat flexible between mid-May and late August. Our place is a real one bedroom, with a huge living room, a very big bedroom, a separate kitchen.
The living room and bedroom each have two large windows with effective darkening blinds, allowing lots of midday light and blocking streetlights from down below. Both rooms, and the foyer, have parquet hardwood floors and high ceilings. In the living room, we have one medium couch and one smaller, with a coffee table on one end. On the other, we have a large dining table that is fantastic for working on a laptop, reading, eating and conversing. In the bedroom there is a firm queen-size bed (we also have a memory foam topper if you like--your choice!), a medium-sized desk, a vanity and two full closets. Both rooms have book shelves--we'd be happy to clear as many of them as you like.
The kitchen is long, with counter space on both sides, a new gas range/oven, lots of cupboard space and a big refrigerator. There is also a little kitchenette-type table with folding ends, perfect for two people for breakfast and can easily accommodate 4. We cook a lot, and have a fully stocked kitchen with a blender, toaster, electric kettle, drip coffee maker, tea infusers, and plenty of cutlery and utensils.
The bathroom is also large, with nice tile and small window. There is a large bathtub and a separate, large stand-up shower with a door. Hot water seems to be in infinite supply and the pressure is amazing.
The building is a 6-story prewar brick thing (complete with art deco arch on main entrance and ornate trim in the unit), and our place is on the top floor, street-facing. Oh, and there is an elevator!
There is a live-in super, and the other tenants are all really great. Overall the building is quiet, but the rare public merriment on the street below is audible in the apartment.
The location of this apartment is kind of perfect. It is a 15-minute walk to the south end (the most beautiful part, for me) of Prospect Park, 5 minute walk to Q train, 8 minute walk to the B train and a very frequently-running busline. I commute to NYU's Washington Square campus every day in 45 minutes or less, door to door. It is also very short walking to Cortelyou road, which has a good co-op (all can shop), a Key Foods, and a handful of neighborhoods bars, coffee shops, a fantastic little beer store, etc. The opposite direction, to Church Ave, gives you access to a even more markets, Bobby's Department Store, two very solid burrito places and a bunch of delis. And it's super close to Flatbush Ave.
There are laundromats in both directions, 10 minutes. Cheap drop-off is available, and you can use our laundry cart if you like.
Very importantly: this neighborhood has really good bagels and pizza, too.
We have a dog, who obviously won't be there. But if you are very, very allergic to dog dander, this place will not be for you. We keep it very tidy and clean, and will do a thorough deep clean before you step foot inside, but I know pet dander has a way of lingering.
But, if you have a dog, there is a good chance you could bring them if they are under 40 pounds and not a pit bull (definitely not our policy--the landlord's, we love pits!) and they are not dog- or kid-aggressive. Unfortunately one of us is seriously allergic to felines, so no cats can cross the threshold of our front door.
Happy to answer any other questions, and to take/send more pictures. At the moment I don't have a good picture of the bedroom and bathroom--I am away for the week, but will take and upload/send out as soon as I return.

About Me
I am a PhD student at New York University in the department of Media, Culture, and Communication. Most semesters I remain in Brooklyn as much as possible. But I like to spend at least part of my summers and winter breaks between my family's home in Pennsylvania and my partner's home in Copenhagen. As you can imagine, I spend the majority of my time at home drinking coffee and tea, reading and doing teaching-related work.
