Light-filled end unit townhouse with 3 bedrooms in intentional community just steps from the University of Vermont and the UVM Medical Center, a 10 minute walk from a free bus downtown, or you can keep walking and be there in another 15 minutes. Adjacent to the Centennial Woods Natural Area with miles of trails.

Burlington is a wonderfully livable place, right on Lake Champlain, with one of the first U.S. pedestrian downtowns, a progressive community, and lots of nearby places to enjoy the outdoors.

Burlington CoHousing East Village is a warm and welcoming place where you can look forward to participating in community meals several nights a week if you wish (or not), gardening with others, and more. We are an intentional and shared community, relying on ourselves to take care of the buildings, grounds and each other. You'll be asked to put in about an hour a week, or more if you wish. If you have physical limitations, don’t worry. We all find ways to contribute, and you will, too. Committees which meet monthly are a great way to get to know your neighbors, and you’ll be expected to join one (Land, Building, Communications, etc.).

*Furnished with all you would need except incidentals, personal belongings, and food.

*Downstairs is a spacious, open plan living/dining room flooded with light from the east and south, looking out on the deck (8 feet wide), garden, and a strip of woods which belongs to the Community.

*Kitchen with good counter space is separated from the living/dining area with a high counter, but is open to it.

*Half bath, hall closet, and foyer also on first floor.

*Upstairs are two good-sized bedroom/study rooms whose double windows face south (one also has an east window), and one smaller study which faces north but has good indirect light. Each of these rooms has a closet, one of which is double-sized.

*Also upstairs are a hall closet and the full bath.

*Laundry facilities in an adjacent building, a 2 minute walk. One parking space is included.

*Rent includes heat, hot water, trash removal, snow plowing and sidewalk shoveling. Tenant is responsible for mowing grass around the Unit and between it and the next building, but there is a capable teenager nearby who can easily be hired for that! Tenant pays for electricity, internet, and cable if they wish (not currently in the house but could be installed).

Outdoors
*Patio and small rear yard space is lush with herbs, perennials, shrubs. One end of the deck has a pergola with grapes providing shade for an outdoor dining table for 4 . The yard abuts a 75 foot wide strip of woods which belongs to Burlington Cohousing. We would love to have people who enjoy taking care of our perennials, but if that's not you, we will hire outside help.

*Raised beds are on the East side for those who wish to grow vegetables, covering about 3' by 10', and one 3 x 3. There are also community gardens on our common land.

*At the bottom of the property, there is a direct entrance to the Centennial Woods Nature Preserve with extensive trails.

*We cannot have pets because of allergies.
*The basement will be off limits to house the owners' personal effects.

Steps from UVM/UVMMC, on bus route, 10 minute bike ride to downtown, shopping, dining and the waterfront. 5-8 minute car ride from interstate, airport and points beyond.
