Charming Harvard Square Studio
This small (300 sq ft) studio is on the top floor of a quiet, nicely maintained elevator building half a block from Harvard Law School and an eight-minute walk to Harvard Square and Harvard campus. It is on a quiet, tree-lined street and has views of the rooftops of Cambridge and Harvard.
It is half a block to Lesley University and also to Bard College's Longy School of Music.
The unit is furnished in a comfortable style with mid-century influences. There is a kitchen alcove with full-sized appliances, a bathroom with tiled floors, glass shower, and window. The main room has a teak table for dining and/or working, bookcases, a comfortable sofa, a queen-sized murphy bed with standard mattress, and storage space.
The brick building itself is walking distance to stores, many restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, and libraries, in addition to all public transportation. It was built in the 1930's and has a plaque commemorating the fact that Vladimir Nabokov lived there shortly after the publication of Lolita.
There is wifi, air conditioning, and all cooking utensils needed. There is no television.
The studio is perfect for a visiting scholar or professor. I have been renting it short-term for over ten years but to comply with new Cambridge regulations regarding rentals, now accept only one-month minimum stays.
