Cambridge England 6 roomed house and garden Summer Term 2016

A lovely academic family home and garden in a quiet Victorian terrace in a desirable area of Cambridge, ten minutes’ walk from the city centre and five minutes from the railway station. We can offer bikes to make the journey even quicker!

The street is popular with families and academics and is near a very good range of local shops.

The house is characterful, modernised, bright and flexible, with a patio and rambling garden (with a gardener!) . The rooms are all generously sized. The accommodation is flexible, with a lovely garden-facing living room, good sized kitchen and guest room/second sitting room on the ground floor, with guest toilet. On the first floor there is a master bedroom overlooking the garden, with en suite bathroom, and two further rooms we use as studies/guest rooms. plus a further shower room/toilet We have a regular cleaner.

On the top floor there is a self-contained studio bedroom and bathroom – Mark (retired professor ) uses the studio two or three mid-week nights a week maximum although for the April to June period he will be mostly in London.

Wifi and all mod cons. Children welcome. We have had several sabbatical families over the last five years and it has always worked out well.

We stayed in this London home for five weeks and could not have been happier. It's an ideal location for commuting to research centers in central/greater London with easy access to the Tube (5 min. walk). The neighborhood has several excellent restaurants and parks. The house is lovely, with working appliances, great wireless connection, and comfortable living space (perfect for a family). Stephen is most generous in sharing his home as well as his extensive knowledge of London. Excellent London Washington 9/8/2014 11:24:00 AM
We are extremely happy with our rental from Stephen. He was great to deal with - friendly and warm, but always professional and quick to deal with any issues that arose. The flat was wonderful - as often seems to be the case, bigger and nicer than the photos suggested - and very well equipped. The garden was an absolute blessing with our two kids, and the garden studio great for their lessons and for guests. The neighborhood is also terrific in London - it's easy to get in to town (I biked easily into Bloomsbury, but it's also quick from Queen's Park, which is less than five minutes) - and near all the shops.

Our tips: the overground from Queen's Park is cheaper and quicker to Euston than the underground, the local library is has a nice kids section, and Mr Fish on the corner gives 10% off the chips with the loyalty card!

Thanks for a greta stay!
