Mulligan's Brae, Knocknalosset, Co Cavan, Republic of Ireland

Knocknalosset is a farming community about 7 miles from the historic town of Bailieborough, County Cavan. Bailieborough is roughly midway between Dublin and Belfast and about an hours drive from the Irish Sea. Cavan is known for its fine golf courses and that it has a lake for every day of the year.

What: We have a new, large, country home on an acre of land that looks out across the Irish hills. The house has a large family kitchen that will seat a dozen people easily; 4 large bedrooms and a study that can also be used as a bedroom; three full bathrooms, one with a soaker tub; laundry room; large outdoor patio; and a fenced yard. The house is heated by hot water radiators fueled by oil and/or a wood & coal heater. We also have a solar powered hot water system. We are attaching photos of our house and property.

Community Ammenties: Some a short walk away and others within a short car trip: country walks and cycling (we have two bikes at present); several golf courses; lakes for fishing and boating; two newer swimming pools and gymnasiums; local sporting events in Gaelic Football, Hurling, Handball, and other sports. The Fleidh Music Festival has been held in Cavan Town for the last three years. County Cavan abounds with music and dance in community halls and the traditional Irish Pub. The Irish Museum of History is located in nearby Ballyjamesduff. The River Erne runs through Belturbet and empties into the River Shannon. Many country fairs and classic car shows occur during the summer. Ancient castles and relics dot the landscape as do old cemeteries and numerous churches of all denominations. Ireland is a wonderful place to study family history for those with Irish ancestors. What we like most about our adopted country is undoubtedly the welcoming hospitality and kindness that we have experienced day after day. When we say that going to Ireland is like stepping back in time to simpler, better days we mean this as nothing but a sincere compliment to the country and the people. We should add that our neighboring town of Baillieborough has just been named "The Most Romantic Town in Ireland".
