Alhambra View

Alhambra View is a beautiful, recently renovated, traditional Granada house with views of the Alhambra Palace, located in the centre of the historic Albayzin quarter.

The house has 4 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and can accommodate up to 9 people. On the ground floor there is an entrance hall, a large living room and spacious, fully equipped, eat-in kitchen, both of which open on to a large patio. There is also a double bedroom downstairs and the living room sofa can be converted into a double bed if needed.

Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms (1 double, 1 single and 1 with bunk beds), a 4 piece bathroom and a terrace with stunning views of the Alhambra Palace, ideal for al fresco dining on warm summer evenings! There is a small, roof top viewing terrace, accessible via an exterior staircase with incredible views of the whole of the city.

The Albayzin area is of Nasrid origin, dating from the XI century. Along with the Alhambra, it is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List for being considered a place of cultural and historical interest. Set on a hill opposite the Alhambra Palace and overlooking the city of Granada, the Albayzin is an area of great beauty with cobbled streets, whitewashed houses, fountains and leafy squares. There are many bars and restaurants, friendly local shops (a small supermarket, baker, fishmonger, butcher, chemist etc) and a fresh fruit and vegetable market which comes to one of the main squares several times a week.

The centre of Granada is only a 20 minute walk away, down a small hill and along the Darro river at the foot of the Alhambra.
The city of Granada is a vibrant, cultural centre and there is never a dull moment with activities on a daily basis, many of them open air and free, especially in the summer months. There are excellent tapas bars and the added advantage that Granada is one of only 2 provinces in Spain where a tapa is served free with every drink!

The beaches of Almuñecar and Salobreña on the "Costa Tropical" are only a 40 minute drive away so easily reachable for a day trip. In the winter months, the Sierra Nevada ski resort is also only a 30 minute drive so Granada is ideally located! There are excellent bus services to all these places as well is in the city centre itself, although almost everything in Granada is within walking distance!

This is an ideal rental home, catering for everyone: families, individuals, groups of friends or colleagues. All are welcome!

We stayed in Alhambra view from September until November 2014, and enjoyed the experience very much indeed.

This property is well titled - the view of the Alhambra is magical! We loved taking our evening meals on the first floor terrace and watching the sun go down over the city. There is also a roof terrace, and a patio on the ground floor - so plenty of outdoor options!

The house is very well equipped, and had everything that we needed.

The house is spacious - there are 4 bedrooms, which was extremely useful when we had guests visiting us from the UK. We loved the location - it is in the area called the Albaicin. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. There are also grocery shops, bakeries and an excellent fishmongers nearby.

Because the medieval streets are very narrow, we found it best to park the car on the Carreterra de Murcia, which is a few minutes walk away. This worked just fine for us. During the week we found we didn't really need a car - everything is within easy walking distance, including the Cartuja campus of the University.

The house and rental arrangements are looked after by Kate and Steve, who were extremely efficient and helpful. Kate and Steve made sure that everything went smoothly during our stay.

All in all, I would recommend Alhambra View very highly indeed. We loved our time staying in this house.
