As a writer, I love the calm atmosphere and leafy views from this flat. At the top of an Edwardian building looking across West London, it is located on a quiet residential street a few minutes’ walk from Portobello Road. All around are interesting shops and excellent restaurants, from the high-end boutiques on Westbourne Grove to the funky cafés and bars around Portobello Road. With windows on both sides and a large skylight over the hall, the flat is very light and bright. It has a living room with dining area, a bedroom with double bed and en-suite bathroom, a separate kitchen, hallways and a private staircase. It is fully furnished, equipped with high-speed wireless broadband and has a supply of duvets, blankets, sheets and towels. On the shelves in the hall is plenty of reading material – including two books written by me! The living room has a sofa and two side chairs, plus a dining table with four chairs. The kitchen has an electric oven with gas hobs, a fridge with small freezer compartment and a washing machine, kettle and complete collection of cutlery, crockery and cooking equipment. Gas central heating powers radiators in every room and hot water is constantly available. There’s plenty of storage space as well as a utility cupboard in the hallway with a vacuum cleaner, ironing board, iron tools, light bulbs and cleaning equipment. While the apartment is not suitable for children it is perfect for a couple or single adult.
