Charming writer's home in Notting Hill

As a writer, I love the calm atmosphere and leafy views from this flat. At the top of an Edwardian building looking across West London, it is located on a quiet residential street a few minutes’ walk from Portobello Road. All around are interesting shops and excellent restaurants, from the high-end boutiques on Westbourne Grove to the funky cafés and bars around Portobello Road.

With windows on both sides and a large skylight over the hall, the flat is very light and bright. It has a living room with dining area, a bedroom with double bed and en-suite bathroom, a separate kitchen, hallways and a private staircase. It is fully furnished, equipped with high-speed wireless broadband and has a supply of duvets, blankets, sheets and towels. On the shelves in the hall is plenty of reading material – including two books written by me!

The living room has a sofa and two side chairs, plus a dining table with four chairs. The kitchen has an electric oven with gas hobs, a fridge with small freezer compartment and a washing machine, kettle and complete collection of cutlery, crockery and cooking equipment. Gas central heating powers radiators in every room and hot water is constantly available. There’s plenty of storage space as well as a utility cupboard in the hallway with a vacuum cleaner, ironing board, iron tools, light bulbs and cleaning equipment. While the apartment is not suitable for children it is perfect for a couple or single adult.

We had a wonderful time at Sarah's flat. It was a charming apartment in an excellent area. Fantastic neighbourhood. Great location for walking and for transport links. Sarah was wonderfully accommodating and kind. A really wonderful stay. Excellent Kingston 8/4/2020 11:09:00 AM
Amazing flat, fully equipped and comfortable. The location is convenient to so many restaurants and shops, as well as gyms, yoga, and public transportation. The downstairs neighbors are pleasant and quiet, and the top floor gains lots of warm light. The front window opens to the southwest and overlooks a quiet street. Sarah is an amazing host! My wife and I stayed at Sarah's flat for three months in Spring 2019 and we absolutely loved the place. Sarah could not have been a more welcoming, helpful and friendly host. She was always quick to reply to emails and keen to make sure we had everything we needed. She was in New York when we arrived (which is why the manager let us in), but we got to meet her later on during our stay and are so glad we did! She is lovely and easy-going, and we had a great conversation about her work as a journalist and writer.

The flat itself is very comfortable, tastefully decorated and supercosy. It is conveniently located on a pretty and quiet street in Notting Hill, only a 5 minute walk from Westbourne Park tube station. The neighbourhood is beautiful and we always felt very safe there. Shops, restaurants and supermarkets are nearby and easy to reach on foot.

The flat has everything one needs for a prolonged stay, including towels and bedsheets. All appliances work well and there are lots of kitchen utensils. There is also a handy booklet with instructions, which includes great tips on where to dine out in the area (try The Tin Shed for breakfast!). The ensuite bedroom is huge, has comfy bed, and there is lots of room to store all of your clothes and belongings.

We loved staying at St Luke's Road and highly recommend renting Sarah's flat if you're looking for a wonderful place to stay. Thanks again, Sarah!

I have just returned from a very enjoyable 3-month stay at Sarah’s apartment. Sarah was exceptionally helpful in introducing me to the flat when I first arrived and answering/solving any queries very promptly. The apartment is fantastic (very beautiful and clean) and exactly as it appears in the photos (an excellent home-away-from-home). The location is superb (close to Portobello Market, Westbourne Grove, Notting Hill and the Union Canal) and the area around the apartment is loaded with all the shops and services one needs for a short stay in London. Despite being in a very trendy area of London, the street and the apartment are very quiet and peaceful, but very well communicated with the city center (tube and bus are very close). Couldn't have been better! I would definitely try and stay there if I came to London again. I highly recommend it without reservations. Excellent Marta 6/10/2018 4:18:00 AM
