Large, stylish, furnished 3 bedroom house close to centre of Sydney

This stylish, fully furnished, well-maintained house is in a quiet street. It has undercover parking, large rooms, high ceilings, and large windows that provide lots of natural light.

It provides a convenient, economical base in which to work, and to enjoy Sydney.

The rental cost may be negotiable for long stays.

Most of the house is air conditioned and has easy-care tiled or timber laminate floors.

All linen and towels are provided.

Included in the rental cost are electricity, gas, water, and an initial 3GB of wi-fi data. You can purchase extra data online with your credit card if you need it.

Three large bedrooms have a queen bed, two single beds, and a double bed, respectively, all with good quality mattresses, electric blankets, good reading lamps, and two pillows per person. All bedrooms have large built-in wardrobes.

The kitchen has a solid brushbox timber benchtop, a double oven, a five-burner gas cooktop, a dishwasher, microwave, and lots of cookware and crockery.

There is an open plan dining/living area (with a TV) near the kitchen, and a separate lounge room with another TV and an in-tune piano.

The house has an internal laundry and two modern bathrooms. The main bathroom has an oversized shower, a 2-person bathtub with another shower over it, and two hand basins with illuminated mirrors.

There is a rear patio overlooking the enclosed rear garden, for outdoor dining (and afternoon gin & tonics).

Haberfield is 8km west of the Sydney central business district. Haberfield was named “The Garden Suburb” 100 years ago, and is a heritage-listed Conservation Area. It has wide, tree-lined streets and many Victorian and Federation era houses with large gardens, stained glass windows, and interesting architecture. It’s a great area to walk around.

Haberfield shopping village (300 meters away) is a gourmet’s paradise. There are regular foodlovers’ walking tours through Haberfield which cost $125, which we can duplicate for you for free! It has 10 restaurants; 6 cafes, 3 continental cake and gelato shops; 2 freshly-made pasta shops; a traditional Italian woodfired bread bakery; excellent continental delicatessens and butchers; a liquor store; supermarket; public library; and a full range of other shops, including 3 designer jewellery shops (if you are feeling generous or self-indulgent).

At the very far end of our road is a rowing club on Iron Cove Bay (Sydney Harbour) which admits casual visitors, has a good view of the Sydney city skyline, and has a waterfront bar and restaurant. There is a popular 7km bicycle and jogging route around Iron Cove Bay, the "Bay Run".

The house has convenient access to high-frequency public transport. It is 400m from bus stops, with frequent buses to the Sydney city centre, University of Sydney, University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Notre Dame University, Charles Darwin University, and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

Nearby facilities include:

* an 8-screen cinema centre in Leichhardt

The railway is 1.2km away; Sydney airport is 11km away (25-30 minutes by taxi). The light rail station 850m away takes you to the city via Sydney Fish Market (the 3rd largest in the world), Sydney Casino, Darling Harbour entertainment precinct (restaurants, bars, aquarium, Maritime Museum, harbour cruises in yachts and jetboats, bowling alley), Paddy’s Markets, Chinatown, and Sydney's central railway station.

The city centre can be reached in 15 minutes by car (outside peak hour traffic conditions). Sydney Harbour can be reached in 20 minutes (Opera House; New Years’ Eve fireworks; The Rocks historic area; Botanical Gardens; NSW Art Gallery; ferries to Manly Beach, Taronga Zoo, Luna Park, and Shark Island). The world-class Bondi, Coogee, and Bronte beaches are about 15km away (30 minutes by car).

This was the perfect house for our family of 4 during our 3.5 month stay in Sydney. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by Erol and Maddi, who were extremely gracious hosts who took very good care of us. They went above and beyond what I expected in making us feel welcome.

Not only did the house have absolutely everything we needed from a well equipped kitchen, laundry facilitates, spacious bedrooms with ample storage and comfortable areas to hang out as a family but it was optimally situated to gain access to the rest of the city.

We did not have a car during our stay but easily managed to get wherever we needed to go using the bus, train, light rail and ferry system. My husband worked at the University of Sydney which was an easy 15-20 minute bus ride and our daughter traveled by bus to Burwood Girls High School about 10 minutes away. We used the train often which is a 12 minute walk from the house and the light rail also 12 minutes walk.

Just as in their description of the area, Haberfield has wonderful shops to explore. We all enjoyed sampling the delectable treats in the bakeries, pastry shops and deli. We learned that people from all over Sydney come to this area for the food and it's just around the corner from the house!

Our son attended Haberfield Public School, just an 8 minute walk away. Here he and our family were welcomed with open arms. We made many new friendships we are sure will last over time and the space that separate us now.

Overall we could not have asked for a better living situation for our family. The house was clean, well equipped, perfectly located and has wonderful hosts in Erol and Maddi.

This is truly a great home away from home. We lived here with our 3 kids during 2 months (Oct/Nov 2017) and the place has everything to make you feel at home. Spacious room, 2 bathrooms, great kitchen. The landlords couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful! We have been in different countries in several houses but they really made sure we had everything we needed and more! Haberfield itself is really great! Italian restaurants, supermarkets and ice-cream with Italian quality give you a holiday experience on a daily base. Commuting to the city is easily accessible by bus or light rail. Trains are a nice 10 min walk to the nearest train station. It is really sad to leave and most definitly worth a short or long stay in this great house, in this great city!
