Charming Cape Cod in Halifax, Nova Scotia

Looking for a restful place to stay that is close to the peninsula and close to nature? On a well kept residential street, there is a tastefully decorated Cape Cod home. Extensive renovations have been done to the house, which is furnished with very good to excellent quality everything. Two bedrooms upstairs have wonderfully comfortable beds and furnishings that are tasteful and/or useful. The master bedroom has a cosy office alcove and the second bedroom has a window seat for reading or just looking out the window. The bathroom, with a claw-footed tub and shower, was renovated last summer. A powder room was added to the main floor three years ago, providing additional convenience. The house is heated with heat pumps in the master bedroom and living room, in-floor heating in the front entrance way, the powder room and electric heat in the second bedroom and the dining room. Parking for two cars is available. A bus stop also exists right on the edge of the property for the #15 bus to take you to the West End Mall terminal in less than five minutes. For those who cycle, a bicycle lane takes you safely to the pennisula in five minutes. The house is also a short walk to trails, including The Frog Pond and is a short walk to the Dingle Park on the North West Arm. The shops and services of Herring Cove Road are minutes away by car.

This house would be perfect for a discerning couple who like to stay in and relax in front of the fireplace or entertain. It would also work for a small family who would like to live in a safe neighbourhood with other children. It is ideal for a small family with school aged kids as it is a block from a great elementary school or a fifteen minute walk to junior high. There is a queen sized bed in the second bedroom, but this could be exchanged for twin beds for the right renter.

I have a large deck off the kitchen and a yard big enough for an ice rink or to play a game of croquet.

I am eager to rent to people who enjoy being in a well cared for home in a neighbourhood that is close to downtown and amenities and offers trails and waterways at the end of the street.

About Me
My name is Sarah MacVicar and I am stepping away from my life (career in teaching, family, friends, city life and my HOME) for a year or more to renovate, open and operate a small inn in rural Nova Scotia. While I'm off doing this ... thing, I hope also, to take some time to do some travelling again and read and even write. I lived away from Canada for some time and travelled quite extensively years ago but have stayed put in the last ten years and have just enjoyed the simple pleasures of gardening, hardware stores and being closer to family. Time for another shake up!
