About Me
After ten years as a publicity and marketing coordinator in the film and television industry in Toronto, I returned to Nova Scotia in 1992 in pursuit of a B.Ed from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax. I taught early elementary for a number of years before switching to Dalhousie University, where I worked in a Child Development research lab as the Lab Coordinator. Returning to the school system in 2011, I turned my attention to children with special needs, working as an Educational Program Assistant, in both elementary and junior high school. I retired from teaching in May of last year, and am currently trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up! My husband and I both love to travel, and have instilled that love in our daughter. She set a “20 by 20” challenge for herself, attempting to visit twenty countries by the time she turned twenty years old. She actually managed to do it before she turned nineteen!
