Quiet conservation village, easy access to London and airports.

Picturesque conservation village where first cottage hospital in England was established. Within easy reach of lovely Chilterns countryside.
Modern four bedroom house comprising large reception, modern kitchen, study, conservatory/dining room and utility room, 1 double bedroom with ensuite shower and WC, one more double bedroom and two single rooms, family bathroom and downstairs cloakroom with shower; a double garage with further off-street parking.tumble dryer in garage. PV panels fitted to roof.

The kitchen has cream painted wood cupboards with granite worktops. American-style fridge, double sink, gas hob, electric double oven, dish washer and lots of dishes etc. For communications Satellite TV, high speed Internet and land line telephone. For comfort, the house has full gas central heating and full double glazing. Strictly Non smoking.

Outside there is a small south facing back garden with patio and mature shrubs, grape vine and fig tree, this is enclosed . There is also a large front garden all currently laid to grass and mature shrubs and with two patio areas. There is also a large separate wildlife area with pine trees, wild flowers, plum and pear trees, and a variety of pond life. Sunny sitting area
The house is in a small conservation hamlet in rural Hertfordshire with superb communications:a car is advised for seeing the local areas of interest and large weekly shop.
Luton, Heathrow and Stanstead airports are all within easy reach; London Euston is within 25 minutes by train, after a 2 mile drive/cycle to Hemel Hempstead station; There is also a bus service to London at 1 mile walk, house is also within 10 minutes of M1, 5 more minutes to the M25; easy commute to UCL (which I did for 6 years),British Library. Surprisingly, we don't hear enough of any of the traffic noise to drown the birds singing or the woodpecker drilling.
In addition to being close to the usual facilities of a medium sized town (Hemel Hempstead) such as supermarkets, department stores etc., the house is within walking distance of the picturesque Old Town with church, restaurants, pubs, theatre, antique shops and a huge park (ideal for walking the dog, skateboarding or playing bowls). It is also near beautiful Chilterns countryside though you would need a car to be able to take advantage of all these nearby tourist spots.

Our village has an active social calendar - from Twelfth Night festivities, Safari Suppers, Summer Barbecues, Book Club, and an active residents' association. It's a great place to get to know the neighbours if you want to, or to be private if you prefer.

The house has been our family home for 30 years. we're rattling around a bit now our two children have left home. Several private schools within easy drive. State schools also close.

Our time at Wyndhurst was absolutely lovely! Richard and Chris were more than gracious hosts who were there for us whenever we needed them. The house fit well our family of five, including two teenagers. With easy access to London via a 25-30 minute train ride, it gave us a quiet English countryside life with the city in reach for work and fun. Piccotts End and Hemel Hempstead were wonderful places we greatly enjoyed and we were happy to call them home during our stay. If you are looking for a place to live in or near London, you will not go wrong here. Walks along the country public footpaths just outside our door, Saturday morning car boot sales just around the corner, and the Marchmont Arms just down the street. We miss it dearly! Cheers. Our experience with this host was nothing but excellent. They were excessively helpful from the start, even before and even regardless of whether we were able to rent their home. Fortunately for us, we did rent their home. From start to finish, it was an incredible experience. Any house issue that arose was handled quickly and always graciously. We were staying with our 4 children (and had our 5th while living there) and they were exceedingly kind in preparing the house for our family. Beautiful, well furnished and stocked home. The kitchen is fantastic, the whole house cozy and warm. I really can't say enough positives about the house or the hosts. Excellent excellent sabbatical all around, largely because we had a "home".
