The apartment is in an elevated location within Heritage listed Torbreck Tower on Dornoch Terrace, Highgate Hill Brisbane. It has easy access to the popular West End area of inner Brisbane. Easy access to UQ, QUT, Queensland Children's Hospital and PA, Southbank and the city.

Enjoy views to the south and east from the main balcony and a Juliette style balcony off the generous main bedroom.

The fully furnished apartment has:

• 2 bedrooms (1st with queen bed with its own Juliette balcony, 2nd bedroom with single and trundle under, plus 3rd small bedroom/study with sofa bed)

• good size built-ins in the first and second bedrooms

• a large study nook adjoining the dining with natural light and a large timber desk.

* a pool downstairs and an observation deck which is great for viewing fireworks is on the top floor are available for all tenants of Torbreck

• broadband fast internet options available at the apartment using a provided fibre/cable modem and/or 4G device which is ready for your immediate use. Tenants pay for own connection plan and usage but can use the modem and/or 4G device.
• lovely breezes thanks to the architectural design and situation on top of Highgate Hill

• ‘easy to maintain’ polished concrete floors and carpeted bedrooms.
• water and gas usage is included in the rent, electricity usage is payable at cost price per electricity meter periodically or at end of stay (on average usage of electricity is around $2-3 per day for small families.)

Living in Tobreck’s iconic Tower block simplifies life with on-site management and maintenance. The building was the first highrise of the area and is perched in an excellent position on top of Highgate Hill which attracts lovely breezes in this well designed and solid Heritage listed building. The central facilities, including elevators and a swimming pool have been renovated and are maintained very well. Bicycle storage is downstairs if you wish to store your bike downstairs within the building. This particular apartment has the option of a secure lock up garage space in the basement carpark (further $30 pw if required) but there is no pressure to take this with the rental if you wish to park in the street or do not have a car.

Torbreck is centrally located in Brisbane:

• 2.2 km walk/cycle to QUT / Brisbane CBD via pedestrian bridge

• 1.8 km walk/cycle to Brisbane Children's Hospital South Brisbane / Mater hospital
• 2.8 km to Princess Alexandra (PA) hospital
• easy access to public transport and connections to the University of Queensland (3.1km) via the Green Bridge or CityCat
• close to popular West End and South Bank areas of inner Brisbane.

My husband (who is originally from Brisbane) and I are academics in the US, and our family stayed at this house in wonderful Coorparoo for a year (July 2019-July 2020) during a sabbatical. We absolutely loved both the home and the neighborhood. The house is comfortably furnished with everything you'd need, and it has wonderful Queenslander character. The enormous back porch was the highlight of the house. We have two young children, and the house was perfect for us, especially with the additional space downstairs. The kids loved the back yard and trampoline. Mike was a very responsive landlord, taking care of all of our requests in a timely fashion. For example, the dishwasher needed to be replaced, and he had a new one bought and installed within days. We also found ourselves in Australia during the first several months of the coronavirus pandemic, and he was very flexible with us on our lease, which we extended by nearly two months. The neighborhood itself is ideal, particularly for families. The local primary school, which both our children attended, is a pleasant stroll away. We loved the wetland down the road, where we got to know many ibises, swamphens, wood ducks, spoonbills, cormorants, and fruit bats--even a black swan. There is an abundance of restaurants, cafes, cinemas, churches, parks, and grocery stores within walking distance, and larger shopping centers are a short drive/bus ride away. The many bus lines running through Coorparoo connect you to the entire city. All in all, we had a fabulous year there, and I heartily recommend it. Excellent Stephanie McCarter 8/14/2020 7:06:00 AM
We stayed in the Torbreck apartment for 8 months as a family of 5. The unit was spacious and had everything we needed. While there is no AC, with the windows/doors open, there is good airflow through the unit. The pool and back yard were especially welcome with the kids. We also rented the garage space, which was useful as a covered car park and storage space. We loved the location, a short walk to Southbank. My family (2 adults and 1 teenager) stayed in this old and charming Queenslander house from August to December 2018. We truly enjoyed our stay. The house is comfortable, with a nice, big terrasse and a backyard. It is located in a quiet and nice neighbourhood, with easy access to stores, restaurants, a cinema and frequent busses to Brisbane CBD. We stayed in this beautiful house for one year during our stay at UQ Herston and had a great experience. The remodeled Queenslander is in great shape and very tastefully furnished, all appliances are in excellent condition. Coorparoo is a great neighborhood for families with excellent schools and good public transport options. Michael and Heather were very easy responsive, friendly and easy to deal with. This apartment was excellent. We stayed here for 6 months with our 4 year old, whilst my wife worked at the local hospital and I was at QUT. The apartment was a great size, and had all the furnishings and accessories required to make this our temporary home. All we needed was to bring our clothes. All the other residents we met were very friendly and welcoming, and we often spent the afternoon in the pool with the other families. The location was great. There are 3 bus lines which are within 50 meters of the apartment, buses being the main mode of public transport in Brisbane. It was also a 15 minute walk to South Bank, West End and Mater/Lady Cilento Hospital - all things to keep us occupied and entertained. We barely used our car because of the close location to everything. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone wanting a great apartment to call your temporary home whilst you live in Brisbane.
