Beautiful 2-bedroom Albany California bungalow and studio, close to UC Berkeley and San Francisco

We love our small bungalow in Albany, California! From time to time, we’re off on extended travel and like to have the house occupied rather than sitting empty. This time, the house will be available from about June 20 through August 22, 2018.

We are going to Berlin during this time, for Mike to work at his company's office there.

Rent would be $6400 for the two-month period ($3200/month), with a $2500 damage deposit.

The house is about 825 ft2 in the main house and 200 ft2 in a detached studio. Overall, the feeling is warm and modern.

In the main house, you’ll find:

- A large room spanning the entire house and encompassing living, dining, kitchen and play area.
- Two small bedrooms. We’ve recently remodeled both, with lots of built-ins and a ship’s cabin feel. One bedroom has a comfortable queen-sized bed. The other has a twin bed and the accoutrements of a six-year old boy. With the new built-ins, it has a great, cozy feel.
- A kitchen set up for real cooking: mixer, cuisinart, blender, various knives, bowls, hand tools, pasta maker, sauce pans, stock pot, bowls, frying pans, etc.
- Sliding window looking to the back yard. This, together with vaulted ceilings, gives the house a marvelously open feel.
- Hardwood floors with tile inlays.
- Built-in seating.
- Large dining table with seating for eight.

In the detached studio, you’ll find:

- Loft with queen-sized bed.
- Kitchenette
- Home theater

Albany is a small town located just north of Berkeley. A few blocks away is Solano Avenue, home to numerous excellent restaurants like Rivoli, Ajanta, and Little Star. Berkeley itself is home to Chez Panisse and countless other amazing restaurants, coffee shops, and specialty food shops. Nearby you have wonderful parks like Tilden, Wildcat, Redwood, and Briones. A bit farther afield is the North Bay with Point Reyes National Seashore. San Francisco and its culinary and artistic attractions can be reached by public transportation in less than an hour (including walking to the North Berkeley BART station). The neighborhood itself - while centered in a densely populated urban area - is quiet and composed of single family homes. One block away is a great park with playgrounds for small and large children and tennis and basketball courts. The Napa and Sonoma wine country makes a good day trip. The location combines excellent access to big city attractions and world class natural beauty.
