We love our home, but will be away on sabbatical in California for the 21-20 academic year. We are also interested in a home exchange with anyone in the Stanford area.

Beautiful, cozy, and modern, fully furnished home in South Amherst, ten minutes from downtown, two minutes to bike path (Rail Trail) and hiking trails.

The house is warm and sunny in the winter, when the leaves have fallen, and cool and shaded in the summer. Nest smart thermostats control three heating/central AC zones (one for each floor). This is a newer, energy efficient house with the charm and character of a classic older home. Hardwood floors throughout; ceramic tiles in bathrooms and kitchen; granite counters.

Attached garage with space for two cars; back yard has large porch, two gravel patios, and a beautiful stone wall. There are Adirondack chairs for lounging, an outdoor table and chair set for dining, and both charcoal and gas grills.

First floor has open concept living/dining/kitchen area, one full bathroom with shower, and an office space with a desk and a digital piano. Birch flooring throughout; ceramic tile in entryway, kitchen, and bathroom. Modern kitchen is a cook’s kitchen, with all the appliances and tools you’ll need.

Second floor has master suite with full bathroom (large shower); two other bedrooms and a full bathroom (shower/tub combo). Small laundry room with conveniently located washer and dryer. Wide plank pine flooring throughout; ceramic tiles in bathrooms and laundry room. Currently, one of the bedroom rooms is set up as a nursery but it could be converted into another bedroom or an office. The other is an office/bedroom with a desk, twin daybed, and armchair. Walk in closets in all three bedrooms.

Basement is newly remodeled. The large space has been split in two. On one side, there is a projector and screen for watching tv or movies; on the other is a comfortable queen bed and dresser.
