Single Modern Family 4 BR/2.5 Bath - Furnished House in "Bike Friendly" Arlington (from Mid-July 2021)

HOUSE DESCRIPTION
Located on a quiet private way in the heart of Arlington, this renovated colonial house includes:
- On the first level a large open concept kitchen filled with modern appliances, granite counters & breakfast bar overlooking a spacious family-room graced with natural light, a convenient powder room, a dining room that seats 6 people comfortably perfect for gatherings and a reading/lounge room with wood burning fireplace. Walk through the French doors to the patio-outdoor dining area surrounded by a fenced landscape with beautiful lighting and gas barbecue to enjoy a perfect urban oasis during these late summer nights. The front porch offers a lounge sitting area, the ideal spot to unwind during the week (my favorite place to read a book).
- On the second level, a master retreat with king bed, soaring ceilings awaits you, complete with study (standup desk, printer, monitor) & ensuite bath. Three more bedrooms (1 queen bed, 2 twin beds) & a full bath finish the 2nd level.
- The house is fully furnished, hardwood floor throughout (except bathrooms), equipped with air conditioning (mini split system extremely quiet), automatic sprinkler and landscape irrigation system. A large basement and shed can be used for storage/bikes. Parking available for 2 cars. The house will have everything needed to live comfortably (Electrical appliances, TVs, linens, sheets, pillows, cooking utensils, silverware,… just whatever you need is already here), with lots of closet space for your personal belongings.

LOCATION
The location is very walkable and bike friendly, direct access to the Minuteman Bike Trail (a 10-mi /16-km paved path for bikes and pedestrians) is less than 200 feet from the house and takes you to downtown Arlington in a few minutes walk or bike ride — most errands can be accomplished on foot (grocery store, restaurants, library, parks, sports fields, ice skating rink).
The #67 Bus stop is a few steps away on Summer St with quick access to Alewife MBTA station (short ride to Cambridge/Boston via red line).

MORE ABOUT ARLINGTON
Arlington is a very enjoyable, family friendly small town in the suburb of Boston, adjacent to Cambridge. It is very well connected to public transportation (metro the "T" and Bus). Alewife Station is the last stop on the Red Line, the most recent metro line, very safe, fast and with wi-fi access, which stops at all the major landmarks (Harvard campus, MIT, Boston commons, South station) and takes you to Cambridge/Boston in a short ride (10/20 min).
Arlington is very lively with a large variety of local restaurants (American Bistro, BBQ, Italian, Mexican, Japanese, Indian, Chinese, etc.), small businesses (great bakeries, ice cream shops, toys-gift shops, hardware store, movie theater, etc.) and all the amenities to enjoy year round such as parks, playgrounds, ponds, hiking trails, library, art center (ACA), recreation center, etc.
Most shops/restaurants are scattered along Massachusetts Ave. The heart of downtown Arlington is concentrated around Robbin's library-Town Hall.
Fantastic community spirit with active forums/discussion groups on social media, very resourceful!

SCHOOLS
Great public schools at less than 15-min walking distance from the house: Arlington High School (AHS), Ottoson Middle school, Stratton Elementary school.

Rent includes water and wifi. Utilities (gas, electricity) not included.

About Me
I am French and live in Boston area with my wife and daughter. We have been living in the US for 10+ years. I am a faculty at MIT and will spend a sabbatical year in France in the Fall-Spring semesters of 2021-22. We enjoy traveling but also appreciate the comfort of 'feeling at home', we'd love to find a place we can call 'home' and that we will take care of like our own.
