About Me
We are a quiet, married professional couple who are scholars and activists, formerly in universities. We are deeply passionate about our work (see bios below), and are dedicated meditators and interfaith spiritual seekers and organizers. We teach and write and conduct trainings on six continents. We have lived in the U.S. and across Europe, and have spent extended time working in Africa, India, Latin America, and Australia collaborating with local non-governmental organizations and universities. We are clean, conscientious, vegan, quiet, no pets, and always on the lookout for inspiring places to do focused writing retreats. At this time (Apr 2018) we are particularly interested in Spain (Valencia) or Costa Rica (central valley), but will consider other places in Europe or Latin America. Our backgrounds: William Keepin, PhD, is co-founder of Satyana Institute and co-founder (with his wife Cynthia) of Gender Equity and Reconciliation International. Will is a physicist, environmental scientist, independent scholar, and practitioner of silent meditation trained in spiritual traditions East and West for 35 years. He is a mathematical physicist who held multiple research positions, including at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (Stockholm) and Princeton University (New Jersey). Author of four books, Will’s latest is "Belonging to God: Spirituality, Science, and a Universal Path of Divine Love" (2016), with a foreword by Fr. Thomas Keating. Rev. Cynthia Brix, PhD (hon) is an ordained interfaith minister and former campus minister at the University of Colorado in Boulder, and co-founder (with husband Will) of Gender Equity and Reconciliation International, which has conducted over 120 workshops and trainings in nine countries, and was officially endorsed by Archbishop Desmond Tutu. She is co-author (with Will Keepin) of Divine Duality (2007) and Women Healing Women (2009). Cynthia and Will have co-organized many retreats and three international conferences to bridge spirituality, science, and the contemplative traditions across the world religions.
