The first-floor apartment has a spacious living room with work station, a long gallery-style balcony, a large full bath, and two bedrooms. There is also a nice kitchen with a breakfast nook. The location of Casa Verde is fabulous - in the Centro but tucked up Callejon Potrero for privacy and tranquility. We are steps from picturesque Potrero, lovely Tecolote, and the Escuela Mexicana, an excellent Spanish Language school; with the Jardin Union, Teatro Juarez of this UNESCO World Heritage town just 5 minutes away (really 5 minutes, on foot BOTH ways). Our home combines beautiful views of El Centro with the convenience of being directly in it, and provides our guests with an enchanting Guanajuato experience.

PLEASE NOTE! Because much of Guanajuato is accessible ONLY on foot, our property is not recommended for anyone who has difficulty walking or climbing hills or steps. We really are in El Centro, but it is not possible to drive to the door. There are thirty steps to the front door from the "flats" of potrero and the Centro. We are about a 5 minute walk to the University of Guanajuato central campus. The closest parking is 200 yards away in nearby parking garages and is available by the day or month at additional expense. Parking is not provided as part of our listing.


We love the warmth and beauty of Guanajuato and its people. The geography, history, rich culture and inhabitants combine to create one of the world's truly special cities. The University of Guanajuato is one of the best universities in Mexico. Obviously, we love Guanajuato and hope you will too. Casa Verde is a wonderful home-base from which to do work from the home and easy access to the University of Guanajuato and other universities in the area. About Me
I am a Professor Emeritus from the University of Arizona (May 2020). My academic work is in the area of bilingual multicultural populations in the U.S. and Latin America. I have done extensive research and writing on the Mexican educational system particularly on Inclusive Education. I have also done research in Chile, Ecuador and Guatemala. I founded a non-profit Resplandor International (www.resplandorinternational.org) which provides educational programs for children and families outside the city of Guanajuato. I have a 7 week study abroad program each summer through the University of Arizona.
