Inner city garden apartment Sydney

An attractive, well located one bedroom garden apartment. Bedroom and living area have double glass doors that open onto a lush garden. The apartment is located in Haberfield, a heritage suburb in Sydney's inner west, which is just 8km from the centre of the Sydney CBD. It is only a couple of minutes walk to some of Sydney's best Italian restaurants and specialist gourmet shops. Frequent buses to the city and nearby universities leave from bus stop across the road. The University of Sydney and University of Technology are just 15 minutes by bus. The University of NSW is also easily accessible by public transport and car.

Harborside walks and parkland are nearby, including a 7km Bay run/cycle path around Iron Cove, a beautiful bay that is an extension of Sydney Harbor.

The apartment is also close to cinemas and entertainment precincts in the city and Leichhardt and Newtown.

I have spent about a year in Lynne’s flat in Haberfield: it has everything to make someone happy! The location is perfect, with many shops and good restaurants nearby as well as close access to public transport. Haberfield is a quiet, safe area and people are very friendly in this suburb. The University of Sydney is only a short bus-trip away. The flat is fully furnished, and opens towards a luxurious garden: it really feels like you live in your own house! It has a good gas-heater for the ‘cold’ months and it is also easy to keep the flat cool during summer thanks to its large windows on both sides. I have spent many happy days working at home in Lynne’s flat and would not hesitate to recommend it to any academic looking for a quiet, beautiful place to stay in Sydney!

I loved it there so much I stayed there twice. I felt like I was in a small Italian town, not a big city, staying there. But it was still very close to the action in the downtown/CBD. I would recommend the apartment for anyone that wants a cozy neighborhood in a big city.

We stayed in Lynne’s lovely flat from February to July 2014. We had expected to leave at the beginning of May and extended our stay… twice – that says it all really!

I spent a wonderful 4 months living at Lynne's apartment in Haberfield while on a visiting fellowship at Sydney Uni. I would not hesitate to recommend this rental to anyone undertaking a sabbatical at Sydney Uni. I was extremely happy there.

My wife and three year-old daughter and I stayed at Lynne's place for three weeks in January. It's a great little home from home in Sydney, just near many Italian restaurants and a great Italian supermarket. Highly recommended and I hope we'll be back sometime sooner rather than later!

My girlfriend and I spent 3 months in this place in spring/summer of 2012 and we loved staying there. Lynne, the owner, is absolutely lovely and was very helpful. Staying at her home was a pleasure and we would return any time.

About Me
I'm a freelance writer and jouranlist and like to travel as much as possible and have travelled extensively throughout Europe and Asia. I love to welcome overseas visitors to my home so that they can explore Sydney. The apartment is self-contained so there is complete privacy in a sun-filled space that open out onto a lush garden. There are bookshelves full of books that I have enjoyed for guests to read at their leisure.

Lynne's apartment is really cute and nicely decorated with a beautiful backyard (along with a sweet and friendly cat!). It is located in the completely wonderful suburb of Haberfield, which has great Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes and little shops. The buses are convenient for getting into downtown Sydney - it's 30 min from the door taking the bus to the University of Sydney. There's a beautiful park really close by with tennis courts and a great path for running and cycling. I really enjoyed my 3 month stay! Excellent Beatrice Wayne 5/31/2018 2:47:00 PM

I stayed in Lynne's apartment twice for 6 months. It is in an absolute wonderful Italian neighborhood. There are cafes, bakeries, patisseries, pizza shops, well stocked grocery store, hair and nail salons and deli all in less than a five minute walk. The neighborhood is also very nice with beautiful confederation style homes. It has the highest home ownership in Sydney, I believe, and it shows, as everyone keeps their gardens and homes in immaculate shape. A longer walk will take you to nice walking/biking trails around the inner harbor. The apartment itself is nice and is stock with all the necessities for a short to moderate term stay. I loved the large french doors opening to a beautiful but somewhat unkept garden. The place could use a new paint job but is a good price for what else is available in Sydney. I loved it there so much I stayed there twice. I felt like I was in a small Italian town, not a bit city, staying there. But it was still very close to the action in the downtown/CBD. I would recommend the apartment for anyone that wants a cozy neighborhood in a big city. Excellent Danielle 2/25/2015 7:18:00 PM
We stayed in Lynne’s lovely flat from February to July 2014. We had expected to leave at the beginning of May and extended our stay… twice – that says it all really! Lynne’s welcome put us at ease and she was available to answer questions but incredibly respectful of our privacy, which we appreciated since we were recuperating from some busy years.

The flat is comfortable with everything you need. It’s cool in the summer and easy to warm in the winter. The garden is an absolute treasure. We cooked many meals on the BBQ as well as simply enjoying the outlook onto the well-designed garden.

Haberfield is a lovely Italian community and part of the reason we so enjoyed our stay here. There are great food shops and restaurants (as well as a library) and people stop and talk to each other in the street.

Another of the highlights is the proximity to the Bay Run around Iron Cove. This is a lovely outdoor area ideal for walking, biking and running as well as great spots to stop for coffee!

The bus connections to the city are frequent and regular and the train and light rail are within easy walking distance.

We recommend Lynne’s unreservedly if you are looking for a special experience in Sydney.

I spent a wonderful 4 months living at Lynne's apartment in Haberfield while on a visiting fellowship at Sydney Uni.

The place is fabulous: it has everything one could want in terms of household equipment, looks out onto a perfectly maintained garden and, because it is the lowest floor of the house, is pleasantly cool in the evenings, a blessed relief during the hot Sydney Summer/Autumn.

The rent is very reasonable given the location in the Inner West and Haberfield has all the requisite amenities - a vibrant Italian neighbourhood with an excellent supermarket, bakeries, delis, pizzerias, liquor store and a bus stop just a 3 minute walk away (the buses are far better in Sydney than I was led to believe and were very handy for me to get to campus).

The setup was ideal for me and Lynne was unfailingly helpful while at the same time faultlessly respectful of my privacy. I would not hesitate to recommend this rental to anyone undertaking a sabbatical at Sydney Uni. I was extremely happy there.
