Be inspired in a 1-bedroom luxury suite on the waterfront in Tofino BC

This one-bedroom walk-out executive suite overlooks the exquisite Clayoquot Sound in Tofino, offering stunning water and mountain views. This is the perfect place to nurture your creativity! The suite provides a springboard for adventures in the Clayoquot Sound...and beyond. While the suite is conveniently located in the center of the village of Tofino, it is set on the water down from the street so the only distractions are the sound of eagles, fishing boats and the occasional float plane. While the suite is within walking distance of world-class restaurants, the designer kitchen is fitted with Miele and Krups appliances, with ample stone and glassware for entertaining guests. There is a grill on the patio, which features a cedar table and bench. When dining at home, choose between eating indoors at the recycled fir dining table that seats eight, or dining al fresco on the patio made private by strategic plantings. JC Scott designed eco-furnishings in the suite provide an understated west coast ambience where the outdoors takes center stage. The custom-made western maple desk divides the dining and living areas, and looks out onto the sound and mountains beyond (see Photo 3 for view from desk). This is the perfect place to write! Lounge on the sofa, or on the ledge under the window with your coffee, and watch the morning sun creep onto the mountain ranges across the Sound - or the setting sun paint the sky with unimagined colors. Lounge on the sectional or patio with your favorite book, if you can pull your eyes away from the ever changing view. Luxuriate in 300-thread count linen in the queen-sized Western maple custom-made bed. Inside or out, become at one with the rhythm of the tides and drink in the view of the Sound. Practice yoga in the bedroom alcove by the window. The travertine-tiled bathroom has heated floor tiles and a generous bath with a rain shower overhead. There is ample cupboard space in the bathroom and adjoining dressing room. Use the suite as a luxurious base for adventuring. The suite is private, yet meters away from float planes and boats that can transport you to more remote parts of the coast, rain forest, mountains, glaciers. Bus, bike or drive to local beaches and hiking trails.

About Me
I am from New Zealand and have based my primarily Pacific research in Melbourne Australia for the last 10 years. I am an anthropologist with a focus on collaborative research that makes a difference for children, as well as impacting on policy and practice. I have worked with a multidisciplinary team at the WHO Collaborating Centre for Obesity Prevention at Deakin University, investigating the cultural basis of healthy lifestyles in the Pacific, as well as processes to facilitate the development of evidence-based policies to promote healthy lifestyles. In June 2012, I visited Tofino and fell in love with this small fishing village on the west coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. I have travelled extensively in Europe, the Pacific and parts of Asia, yet the magic of Tofino was stronger than anywhere I have been. I currently have an Honorary Research Fellow role at Deakin University so that I can spend more time in Tofino and follow my passion for kayaking and photography. When I am unable to be in my Tofino apartment, I look to share my waterfront condo in the Clayoquot biosphere with discerning academics who want to write or create in luxury in one of the most beautiful places on the planet. My luxury self-contained apartment is on the water in the centre of Tofino (population 1800). It is situated below road level and is away from the hustle. It is the perfect place to write or create. Be inspired by stunning water and mountain views, and be distracted only by the call of eagles, the occasional float plane landing in the Sounds.
