THE LOCATION

The newly renovated Provença Terrace is a lovely, spacious (130M) penthouse apartment. Located in the heart of L’Eixample Right (Provença/Bailen), just 4 blocks east of the iconic Passeig de Gracia and 4 blocks west of Gaudi’s incomparable Sagrada Familla. The Provença Terrace is in one of the best locations of Barcelona. Passeig de Gracia is considered by many to be the highlight of this city, with its exquisite, modernist architecture including Gaudi’s La Pedrera and Casa BatllÓ, and its famous stores and restaurants. This world-renowned Avenue, comparable to the Champs-Elysées or 5th Avenue, is just a short stroll from your home.

Just one block west of Passeig de Gracia is the enchanting Rambla Catalunya, with its local blend of shops and restaurants. Walking south on Rambla Catalunya for 15 minutes will take you to Las Ramblas, famous for its unique street performances. And just north of the Provença Terrace is the wonderful neighborhood of Gracia, known for its intimate ambience and countless small restaurants, bars and boutiques. Located north of Gracia is Parc Güell, an architectural/sculptural dreamland by Gaudi.

To the south; the Gothic Quarter - with its intricate maze of plaças and squares all interconnected by narrow, medieval streets, the trendy El Borne and the southern part of Las Ramblas, can be reached in minutes, direct, via Metro L4 (at your doorstep) or by an enjoyable 25 minute walk. And one stop further on the L4 Metro will take you to Barcelonetta, with its many seafood restaurants, and a stunning Mediterranean beach. For those wishing to cook, you can visit, in a few minutes walk, the colorful Mercat de la ConcepciÓ, an authetic Catalan fresh market housed in a beautiful modernist structure.


THE APARTMENT

The highlight of the fully renovated Provença Terrace is certainly the expansive, south-facing terrace with a distinct dining area and lounging area. Perfect for fresh, sunny breakfasts or romantic candlelight dinners, this feature will allow you to truly enjoy your time at home. And with its retractable awning, glass-enclosed solarium and night lighting, this area will be a welcome retreat any time of day or night. Visiting professors and researchers will appreciate the many restful, outdoor areas perfect for reading and writing.

The spacious living room features fabulous natural light from the wall-to-wall sliding, glass doors, elegant glass dining table, comfortable furniture and original art work. The terrace is visually a part of this living space and creates a very open, welcoming ambience. The living room and both bedrooms have individual A/C units. There is also Wi-Fi (30mbs), Wide-Screen TV, Cable TV with English speaking Stations, DVD, Internet Radio, and a Security Safe for our guests. The entire apartment has central heating and the solarium and living room sliding doors feature double-glazed, heat-reflecting glass.

The master bedroom has a queen size bed, ensuite bathroom and attached glass solarium that opens to the terrace. The large second bedroom features two single beds, desk and lounge and has its own separate bathroom. This 2nd bedroom can easily double as a study/office. Others may choose to use the glass enclosed Solarium, off the master bedroom, as a study. Freshly laundered towels and linens are provided for every guest. We use Hotel Style Comforters, which means a freshly laundered sheet enclosure for each new guest.

The brand new kitchen is complete with everything needed to prepare wonderful meals during your stay, including coffee maker, toaster, microwave, gas stove, electric oven and dishwasher. And from the kitchen you may access the washing machine located on an adjacent patio. The Provença Terrace has everything you will need for an enjoyable, comfortable and memorable visit to Barcelona.


THE BUILDING

This building is an 8-story upscale condo, with only 3 apartments per floor. During the day a doorman is on duty, and there are two modern elevators to take you up to the penthouse. There are no stairs from the entrance door to the elevator so it is very easy to bring in your luggage.
