3-bedroom house in the Berkeley Hills
Our family's house was built to take advantage of a panoramic view of the Bay, long before the Berkeley Hills were crowded. The neighborhood is quiet and pleasant, great for walks. In addition to terrific views of the Bay, the house has a nearly new furnace, on-demand hot water, and appliances, with a (slightly) updated kitchen. It's a small, bright, livable (and well lived in) house with three bedrooms (or two bedrooms and an office), one and a half baths, a fireplace, patio, and fenced garden. It's convenient to Tilden Park, a half block from the bus, and a stiff uphill walk from the UC campus. It isn't fancy; it is comfortable, functional, and well loved, and in a very special spot high on the Berkeley Hills.
The writer-owner stays in the basement studio and works in the garage office. He is very quiet and often away on assignment.
