Beautiful 3 Bedroom house near the center of Bordeaux -1400per month plus charges

We are hoping to rent to families - but will consider renting to several individuals (150/wk or 450/month per person). Our house is a modernized 'echoppe' - the tradition Bordeaux type near the center of Bordeaux. 5 minutes from the tram, 20 minute walk to the university. Very kid friendly. We have 3 decent sized bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, large living-dining room, largish kitchen, and a mezzanine. We have a dishwasher, oven, washer, dryer... There is a small shared yard and garden - big enough for playing with a basketball ( we have a basket), having barbecues and eating at the picnic table outside. Our location is perfect for getting downtown, to the river, to kindergarten, elementary school, or high school and to most parts of the university of Bordeaux by walking, bike or tram. (We also have bakeries, vegetable market, butcher, flowers and wine in the 'place' 200 m from here)!

About Me
I was born in St Paul, Minnesota, loved math, got a bachelor's degree in math from MIT and a PhD from UC Berkeley, taught at the University of Minnesota, then Macalester College, then married a frenchman, got a job at the University of Bordeaux France then had three children and kept working. Now they have grown up, and I'm renting a separate half of our house.

We rented this house from Aug 2020 to Sept 2021 (through the trials and tribulations of COVID19). The 'headline' is that this is an excellent place for a family of 4, well-priced for Bordeaux and with a very good landlord who is also an academic. The furnishings are a bit old and run down (much of it survived raising 5+ kids and then several sabbatical homes families) but not dirty and I rather prefer something with a bit of character anyway. The house is old too, but with modernized 'services' for heating, internet, etc. Location relative to UBordeaux is decent - it is easily bikeable to the two main campuses and there are LOTS of walkable schools in the area. Also (long-ish) walking distance to downtown and the river. Excellent Derek 3/22/2021 2:41:00 AM
