Fully Furnished Top-Floor Brownstone in Historic Fort Greene!

Time Out New York's "Most Beautiful Block in NYC!"

This true Brooklyn charmer is from an earlier Fort Greene era, and is hard to come by. Our space is a full 1-bedroom, 1-bath, top-floor walk up apartment in a pre-war brownstone -- less than 20 feet from Fort Greene Park. Gorgeous, historically preserved building in a location that impossible to beat. Less than 5 minutes on foot to Barclays Center, Pratt Institute, Brooklyn Academy of Music, fabulous restaurants, shops, a gym, bars, cafes, bookstores, hospital -- and 10-15 minutes to NYU, New School and Union Square. Light-filled apartment is it's own floor at the top of a single family, 3-floor home beneath it. Cozy, old school New York.

The apartment is separated from the rest of the house by floor -- not by traditional door, buzzer, etc. The bottom floor and basement are occupied by the building owner of 40 years, who is our dear friend. Tenant has full use of entire top floor with the exception of a small closet-sized room (where I keep an office if I'm in town, or visiting Brooklyn for the evening) including kitchen and bathroom, and all their amenities and appliances.

I would tend to use the small room only on a rare occasion to privately work or sleep if in Brooklyn -- and only by "appointment" with tenant. That said, I've lived here a very long time, am very knowledgeable about the neighborhood and city, and am beyond happy to text or chat in person over coffee or a beer about the neighborhood, and answer any questions plans tenants may have while in the city.

Great link to find out more about the dynamic, cultural epicenter that is Fort Greene:

About Me
Greetings! Our names are Charlie Sutton and Adam Falkner. Charlie is a 36 -year-old Broadway Choreographer and Adam is a 35-year-old writer, teacher and educational consultant. We've lived in Fort Greene, Brooklyn for almost a decade, during which time our life's work has revolved around the creative arts, diversity education, youth culture and business development. A little about Adam: After spending six years as a high school English teacher in New York City's public schools, I returned to graduate school to pursue my PhD in English and Education at Columbia University, and to grow the arts-based diversity consulting group I founded while teaching, the Dialogue Arts Project. In addition to my work and research around DAP, I am the author of several collections of poetry and creative nonfiction, around which I travel the country often for speaking and performing opportunities. A little about Charlie: I am a dancer, choreographer and Co-Artistic Director with almost two decades of Broadway experience. I have originated and danced in 10 Broadway shows, and have worked with Tony award-winning directors and choreographers. I was currently be selected as the 2019 resident for the Jerome Robbins Springboard Project. Choreography Credits: The Quiet World (Springboard Project), Newsies -BroadwayWorld Award for Best Choreography (Theatre By The Sea) Evita - Broadway World Award for Best Choreography (ACT), Saturday Night Fever (Theatre By The Sea), Elf On The Shelf (Mills Entertainment), Riot Song (2019 SDC residency), Wringer (City Center Stage II), Gregorian (Soho Rep), NOEL (VenueWorks Tour), Young Charles Dickens (Mint Theater), Sherlock Holmes (development) and the Co-Artistic Director for Working Artists Theatre Project. Associate Choreographer Credits: Diana (Broadway/La Jolla Playhouse), The Who’s Tommy (Kennedy Center), Clueless (Off-Broadway), Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, Beatsville (Asolo), A Sign Of the Times. Broadway Credits: American in Paris, Kinky Boots (Astaire Award Nom), How to Succeed in Business, Lysistrata Jones, Catch Me If You Can, Woman On the Verge of a nervous Breakdown, The Addams Family, Crybaby, La Cage aux Follies, Wicked. Visit charliesutton.net for more information As travelers & hosts, we are bit of a culture vulture -- and enjoy all things creative, culinary, and beyond. We tend to use my own home as well as homes I am staying in while traveling less as a space to dwell, and more as a space to retreat from the busyness outside -- and as such rarely entertain guests. Because I also often work from home as both a writer and researcher, I tend to keep my spaces incredibly neat, and quiet. For other inquires regarding space or personal, feel free to reach out to me directly!
