Peaceful Retreat in Costa Rica Casa de Singing Tree

A property that provides peace and beauty for writers, artists, academics and others seeking space for study, practice, and a less distracted life. This is not a showhome. It is a living space developed to accommodate the owners' interests in organic and aquaponic gardening, woodworking, sewing and herbal medicine along with healthy cooking. It is an open, spacious home and live-in workspace. Wonderful, scenic views on three sides. 2BR 2BA with all amenities (hot water, appliances, TV; fully equipped kitchen; fully equipped woodworking shop). Fruit trees and gardens fill the yard, and host local wildlife, viewable from expansive balconies. The owner onsite is from the US, speaks English Japanese, and Spanish, and can help you orient yourself and access anything you need. Dogs permitted.

About Me
I spent 15 years at Columbia University developing programs in environmental science, policy and education in the NY Area and internationally in the Caribbean, Indonesia, and Brazil. I currently am Director of Administration at the Richard Gilder Graduate School within the American Museum of Natural History. Linda McEnerny, who lives full-time in a small casita on the property, is a not-so-retired retiree with past lives as a woodworker and builder of Harps; fine artist and painter; founder and Director of a homeless shelter in West Virginia; postal carrier; licensed computer technician; and mother of 7 children. The house for rent was built using her own plans, and she has built a raised bed hydroponic garden fed by nutrient water from tilapia tanks. She has an adorable dog and the coconut and mango trees she planted 10 years ago provide yummy sustenance and a perch for the local birds.
