The apt is on the 4th of a 7 floor historic landmark building--Monterey (1890). The building has a new elevator and a super (lives in the bldg).
My unit has 11 large windows (sunny); 2 huge bedrooms; a separate study; 1 1/2 over-sized bathrooms (one with a shower, the other with a toilette, wash basin and washer-dryer); spacious kitchen; and a living-dining room. In addition, the apt. has 3 large closets, high ceilings (10.5 ft), recessed lighting and red oak floors throughout. The unit can easily accommodate 4 persons (2 adults and 2 children or 4 adults). Number of beds: 1 queen, 1 full and 1 twin. High-speed internet, Wi-Fi and Netflix.
The apt. is fully furnished with Persian rugs, teak dining room set, stylish sofa, antique night stands, chest of drawers, lamps, etc. The master bedroom has a large LED Screen (for Net-Flix; but no TV). The kitchen includes a convection oven and a steel refrigerator. The kitchen is stocked with calphalon pots, plates, silverware, wine, beer and juice glasses and more. The unit comes with towels and linen.
The Monterey is located directly across Morningside Park (a great place to unwind in the evening or let the children run around during the day) and in front of the famous Lafayette Statue. The Monterey is 4 blocks from Columbia University, St Luke's Hospital, and St John the Divine Cathedral, largest gothic structure in the country; 4 blocks from Central Park South; and 6 blocks from the hyperactive, overpriced and always tempting shops and restaurants along Broadway Avenue.
To get a sense of the neighborhood go to Google-Map; make sure you enter the correct address: 351 West 114 street (between Morningside Ave. and Manhattan Ave). The Monterey building is the massive, red-brown, stone structure that appears behind the Lafayette Statue. Those of you who are unfamiliar with Manhattan sometimes ask me the same question: is the neighborhood is safe? I have 2 teenage daughters who come and go as they please.
The area is filled with countless restaurants (Thai, Japanese, Ethiopian, Creole, French, a German beer garden), cafes, bookstores, bakeries, bars, sports clubs, Best Yet and Whole Foods, pharmacies, bodegas, wine shops, hardware stores, etc. The area is home to some of Harlem's legendary institutions: Apollo Theatre, Studio Museum, Sylvia's restaurants, Red Rooster, Smoke, Cotton, Abyssynian Tabernacle Church etc.
The apt. is serviced by 7 different subway lines--a, d, 2, 3 (express) and 1, b, c (local). Travel time to: a) Time Sq.: 15 minutes; Union Sq: 25 minutes. Several bus lines also service the area; some of them will take you from the west to the east side (upper and lower) along Museum Mile (15 minutes) to CUNY-Graduate Faculty (25 minutes) etc.
This is a family home, not just a rental unit, so I expect you to care for my apt. the same way that you would care for your own home. A 500 deposit is required (and will be returned to you two weeks after you vacate my unit).
I have uploaded 10 photos of the apt in the following order: Living Room and Dining Room: photos 1,2,3; Hallway connecting the Living Room to Bedrooms: photo 4; Master Bedroom: photo 5; Second Bedroom: photo 6; Office: photo 7; Shower Room: photo 8; Toilette: photo 9; and Kitchen: photo 10.
Send me a Message. I will commit to the first candidate who fulfills all or most of the requirements.
NOTE: As with all NYC coops, if you are subletting for 4 months or more, you will have to complete a tedious application and be approved by the Coop Board. The tenants I propose have never been rejected.
If you support Trump (including Bravo, a member of the US Special Forces in Afghanistan whose review appears on my page although he never rented my apt) do not bother to apply!!!
