Heart of the city - two bed Victorian cottage in historic Osney area

(Please note this rental is for the full academic year (a minimum of 10 months!)
Newly painted, carpets, wood flooring and furniture!
Lovely city central cottage owned by a helpful and welcoming Oxford Univ academic. Located in Osney with amazing country walks and canals minutes away, this is one of the two most sought-after, historical and prettiest residential areas at the heart of the city - a chance to rent a proper house and garden rather than a flat. Almost all the city center, university faculties/libraries and train/ bus/coach stations are a maximum of 15 minutes walk from the house!

Rental is for the full academic year - academics tend to arrive anytime between September/October 2018 and leave sometime in August/Sept/Oct 2019.

Ground Floor: sitting room, dining room, kitchenette, and courtyard garden with rear gate which is great to securely park cycles.
Upstairs: a large double bedroom (the main suite), and one small double bedroom (or suitable for two children with a bunk-bed), a large family bathroom with full bath and overhead shower. Flexibly ideal for either two academic postgrads, couple or family. There is a possibility to use the front sitting room as a third bedroom, but this will need discussion with the landlord (to comply with local renting regulations).

The cottage is newly painted, new upstairs carpets and downstairs wood flooring, gas and electrical safety certificates, new central heating, kitchen/laundry appliances. Ready to move in, for long let (ideally full academic year). Can be provided furnished or unfurnished.

Excellent transport links to London and the rest of south England and the coast (the train from Oxford to Edinburgh in Scotland is only 6 hours!) There is on-street residential parking outside the cottage, with a permit from the local council, but most of the city use cycles to get around because the city is very compact and everything is within minutes of each other.

Beautiful countryside and canal nearby with famous English pubs along the way. Once owned by Christchurch Cathedral (i.e. Christchurch College, Oxford), this cottage is among the famous Victorian residential areas that form the closest residential areas to the city centre. On the other side of this short row of cottages is the old Pump House, now owned by the University and reminiscent of the old New York factories. It's used as a storage location by the Pitt Rivers Museum and Natural History Museum to store dinosaurs!

New Osney is adjacent to Osney Island, established during the Middle Ages and mentioned in The Miller's Tale (in Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales). With easy access to the famous Port Meadow, a stunning area of outstanding natural beauty and wildlife conservation area - everyone goes for long Sunday walks and there are some fantastic pubs along the way, such as The Perch near the wishing well of Alice in Wonderland and the Trout Inn near Godstow.
