Abijah's Mill Cottage

Vintage, picturesque, vacation/sabbatical Get-Away for writers, artists or academics is ready for beta testing on donation basis. High speed (45/25) internet is newly furnished by Cedar Lake Wireless Cooperative. http://www.cedarlakewireless.com/CLWC/Welcome.html Two of the three bedrooms are newly remodeled and available on a short term basis while I complete details and seek long term clients for Fall, Winter, Spring and onward.

Built around 1840 with gothic windows and curved staircases this quaint, story and half cottage overlooks Cornings (aka Indian) Brook and the saw mill also built by Abijah Ellis around the same time. Sharing this contemplative, tranquil view are the kitchen, new in 2002, and the rear deck, as well as the newly remodeled Den and SW bedroom. The N. bedroom is also newly remodeled and features a private stairway to the kitchen. The master bedroom, available within a few weeks, features three gothic windows and minor preparations for future upgrading. The bath, installed in 1959, and living room are also newly upgraded. Lending charm and majesty are the curved central stairway and gothic-windowed, landing halls. Fifty acres of forest, wetland and old orchards, largely adjacent to the brook and swimming hole, have been fallow more than 50 years and harbor dreams of food foraging, food-forestry and permaculture.

Suggested donations are $450 to $1750 per month depending on season and number of guests.

Fine dining and golfing are about 20 minutes away in Yarmouth and also up the shore. Much recommended is https://www.lacuisinerobicheau.ca 26 min.
