Beautiful 2 bedroom Penthouse in Charming Chicago Neighborhood

You will be staying in the penthouse of a converted 1920's mansion, in two large rooms with a great view of the lake & beautiful sunrises. The apartment has a great private deck, along with lots of sunlight and plants. Super easy access to public transit & a great beach.

The apartment is unique, and a lovely place to stay during your visit. It used to be a library space in a large mansion, and all the original woodwork and fixtures are still around. The rooms have fairly new mattresses, and excellent windows. You can view great sunrises from your room, or go over to the other side of the apartment and enjoy sitting out on the private deck while reading your book or drinking your coffee. The house is kept very tidy. The apartment is on the 4th floor, and is a walk up, so you would have to be comfortable with a few flights of stairs.

The bathroom has a corner stall shower. The kitchen space has most tools and spices and cook would need in the kitchen. There is a private deck with beautiful plants and a great view of the sunset.

The Neighborhood is filled with great coffee shops, great food, super diverse, and fun things to do during the day and night. Safe neighborhood and a stones throw to a very great not so loud beach!

Getting around
The apartment is right off of the Thorndale red line stop, the 151, 136, and 147 bus lines to downtown. Its also one block away from Lake Shore Drive

About Me
I'm a Chicago native, and have lived all around the city, in some far reaching nooks and crannies. I love to cook, grow food, travel, and all sorts of other things. I work on asset based community development/organizing around sustainability here Chicago as well internationally. I'm easy to get along with, pretty low maintenance, and love riding my bicycle.

We had a wonderful experience in this amazing neighborhood. Easy access (3 block walk) to the Red line, and a couple blocks in the other direction to a quiet section of beach. MANY restaurants, bars, grocery stores, cafes, playgrounds and more just outside the door. I was in Chicago for a month-long fellowship at the Newberry Library, and brought my husband and 3.5 year old daughter with me, and this was a wonderful place to stay. Seva was responsive and helpful and very kind - she even mailed us some things we'd unknowingly left behind after, at her own expense, even though we offered to pay. She was out of town, so the apartment was also managed by a friend of hers, and he too was helpful and friendly and responded very quickly to all questions. And the deck - where we ate most of our meals, and sat out occasionally in the evening with a glass of wine - was unreal. If we could pick up and move to this part of Chicago, we probably would, all because of this rental. Thank you! Excellent Kate 7/27/2018 1:58:00 PM
