seaside Riviera Nice & Italian border- Mediterranean alpine history/geology/bilingual dialects/20th-c art history

This is a perfect destination for writers, researchers finishing off publications. or artists (for the winter light).
Fresh air, morning wine-dark sea air, and Alpine mountains just north (1 hour, 2,000 metres); hiking, local foods, medieval villages.

This semester, house-sharing can be arranged upon common agreement.
This is also a good stopping point for students or retired scholars who desire access to this particularly rich cultural area, ensconced in stellar geographical settings, all within reach of the greatest art centres of Europe.

Private use of one bedroom (or two) bedroom(as) and master bath....kitchen, gardens, terraces, parking .....

Tourism high points include but are not limited to sites and experiences including discoveries in the sea, mountain, local village activities and adventures; abundant art historical or cultural heritage sites.

Large balcony overlooking rooftops and sea from master bedroom (SE orientation from furnished balcony open to salon and master bedroom) and Villas Kerylos & Rothschild; has several bird-happy garden terraces with wildflowers and cultivated trees e.g., almond, olive, banana, citruses, pomegranate)

Gardening possibilities galore.
Full kitchen, Weber grill, lovely wild grounds.

About Me
My background: PhD cultural anthropology and medieval S. Fr N. Italy culture (literature, history of art) Live in France and Italy full time since 1980s; dual national My interest in medieval architecture and art requires sojourns into mountain valleys where the techniques and styles from Florence arrived later than the burgeonning Giottoesque new styles in Tuscany and the Veneto. The rich local cultures (many mountains, many valleys) are marked in part by the popular cults that drove patrons to find local artists to decorate chapels in the spirit of the times. My home provides you with easy access to nearby 19th-20th-etc art and architecture sites/museums, some ancient and medieval monuments and sites (e.g., Roman road and city). Autoroute provides even faster access to points east in Italy (Florence, 4 hurs; Venice, 5) and west in the Var and Provence; Renaissance painted chapels (etc) and great mountain hiking aplenty in nearby Alps. House situated near A8, sncf, great value local bus services; France's 2nd biggest airport nearby. We frequently go to Italy (Liguria and Piedmont within reach but Venice only a 45 minute flight) for typical yet unique food markets (in Ventimiglia but also in smaller seaside and mountain villages), coffees, proseccos, restaurants, beaches, shopping! Charming sea views and nearby beaches to chose out the front door. Drive north and you can be at 2,000 metres above sea level for wildflowers, lakes, and destinations such as the Mercantour park.
