A home not just a house

Small Victorian house with a small patio, in a quiet street in Islington. Manon lives there. She is a very friendly black cat. I also have an allotment just round the corner. The street is very quiet and there is a real sense of community.

About Me
French but living in London for the past 30 years, I am about to retire from my job as an administrator in a small inter-governmental environmental organisation dealing with protection of the marine environment. I have a small house in Islington which is very central and quiet. I regularly go back to France to visit my mother and I am looking forward to having more time to dedicate to my allotment, my music and Amnesty International. I have travelled quite extensively, in Europe for work and further away for pleasure.

I recently rented this listing for a month July-August. Although I thoroughly enjoyed my communications with the owner Lise, in the months leading up to the rental and the house is charming and in a wonderful part of London, overall my stay was most disappointing. Although two bedrooms are advertised only one small bedroom with a small single bed was available. The owner refused to make the main bedroom available. This was most uncomfortable (banging knee on corner of radiator and desk) and crowded. It was also inconvenient and costly as it meant I couldn't have a daughter or guest stay over for the odd night so incurred hotel costs. Disappointing karmen Guevara 9/24/2014 4:45:00 PM
