We stayed at Annes place in June 2017. It is a lovely environment, everything you need is around the corner, restaurants, supermarkets, bakeries, etc. The appartment is located on the first floor with a view on the green courtyard. The spacious appartment was clean and functionally furnished and contains a bedroom, living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. The appartment is completely furnished with everything you need in daily live. The communication with Anne went very smooth and she always offered assistance.

I stayed in Anne's apartment in June 2015 for a research trip at the BNF. Anne was very easy to correspond with and ready to help. The apartment is really great, clean, functional furniture, and well organised (kitchen is in a separate room from the living room, with a large window). The apartment overlooks a courtyard and is very communal (neighbours are very friendly, often hang out when it's pleasant weather, etc.). I would really recommend it for those who want to stay in this area (residential and more "normal", liveable than other quarters).

My husband and I spent the month of May 2015 in Anne's apartment. She was pleasant and helpful--a pleasure to deal with. The apartment, as described in a previous comment, was small and basic, but truly had pretty much everything we needed. The neighbourhood was everything we had hoped for and more. Although this was not our first time in Paris, it was the first time we had been in the 11th arrondissement and what a marvellous place it is: full of excellent bakeries (4 with a minute or two of the apartment); wonderful restaurants (we particularly enjoyed La Ravigote--fabulous food and the kindest of staff: they even sang happy birthday to me and presented me with a chocolate mousse with a candle in it); the marché d'Aligre, the most reasonably priced food market in Paris and open 6 days a week; great shopping on the rue du Faubourg St-Antoine; and best of all, very few tourists. Spending time in this apartment gave us a real feel for everyday life in Paris. I would definitely recommend it.

I rented this apartment for about two months (late August to mid-October 2009). I cannot speak highly enough of the quartier. It is relaxed, calm, lively but unpretentious, not touristic. You are within a few minutes of Nation and the Faidherbe-Chaligny métro stops and an easy fifteen-minute straight walk (or very fun, easy bike ride) to Bastille. If you are planning to work at the BNF or Arsenale, this location is ideal. (The #86 bus goes practically door-to-door to bibliothèque de l'Arsenale).
The apartment itself is spacious and light, overlooking a lovely interior cobblestone courtyard with glass-fronted studios on the ground floor. Because it's set back from the street, you will hear no traffic noise. The apartment is relatively spacious, with two real rooms (and a perfectly adequate fold-out couch in the living/ dining room). The kitchen is functional and well supplied (although I did have to buy a bread knife). Likewise for the bathroom. It was a real pleasure to come home to this street and this interior. As another plus, you're very close to some fantastic markets: the rue d'Aligre street market (which is tremendous) and the Th/ Sun market at Bastille.
The only minor downside is that the electronics are somewhat basic and/ or touchy. There is no DVD player or cable and the TV is functional with the help of a mobile antenna. There is a tiny, ancient CD-player alarm clock. The toilet is fussy. Etc. However-- these are minor drawbacks unless you care very much about electronics.
My experience here really was excellent. I have lived many places in Paris, including the marais, and it really was a joy to discover this area. It's close to all of those lovely neighborhoods but absolutely not crowded, touristy, over-priced-- very real, very friendly, and very easy. Within a minute of the apartment are a lovely wine bar (Bar Rota), a very cool coffee/ tea/ "cupcake" joint, an unusual extremely reasonably priced jewelry store (Lointain)-- all very local and wonderful.
I very highly recommend this apartment. With the minor caveat of the somewhat "basic" electronic equipment, it is a wonderful apartment to call home while in Paris. Anne, the proprietor, was consistently pleasant, accommodating, helpful, and patient.
