Sweet Seaside Studio

A welcoming, DELIGHTFUL, home from home to keep you feeling comfortable & super-relaxed and make your travel experience in Brighton and Hove or to London and back pleasant and easy!

Welcome to the SWEET SEASIDE STUDIO...

Looking for relaxation, proximity and Charm?!
Our Sweet Seaside Studio has ALL you need!
For Longer Stays: This is the perfect space for one person, a couple or two very good friends. For Shorter Stays: a family who don't need TONS of privacy, four friends, or two couples (But if you ARE two couples please be aware that the Sleeping Loft is an 'area' rather than a separate room!)

Tisbury Rd is on the boarder of Brighton and Hove in lovely East Sussex, South of England.
This very lovely studio apartment with a difference, is a 4 minutes saunter to the Seafront – Fabulously atmospheric in winter for a blustery stride when the wind and rain kick in or a serene stroll on sunny days and mellow eves...
Less than ten minutes by foot from Hove station and twenty/thirty minutes brisk walk to and from Brighton main line station with travel time to London Victoria being fifty minutes – this is a superbly convenient place to stay!
Just off a great, yet relaxed, shopping high street; Church rd, with a fantastic choice of cuisine (Wonderful Indian, Chinese, Thai, Turkish, Italian and French Restaurants) – Great cool and cosy cafes – cheeky bars – retro stores – a big old Tesco’s Supermarket – Nice Independent Grocers – A Library – a Town Hall – Hairdressers – Bakeries – Hardware Stores – You name it !!
Worth mentioning again: The apartment itself is a wonderful hangout for a single person or a couple ( For Shorter stays a family with two small children, perhaps or older kids happy to share a double bed as it has a very sweet sleeping loft....Very comfortable but you are not shut off from each other - so be aware of this proximity if looking for a Romantic break...or some time away with friends..)
At present there is no TV (Please inquire for Long Lets) Your Wifi and phone are included to local or international calls kept at under One Hour. We do have a TV license too so you can access iPlayer etc...
If you are musical and want to entertain yourself we have a lovely upright piano so you can have fun tinkling the ivories....!!
This is a strangely spacious little apartment – whilst actually a Studio space – there is something a little grand about it with its large sash windows and fabulous high ceiling ...(The sleeping loft is 5' 3'' in (URL HIDDEN) do mind your head, or if you prefer, there is always the downstairs sleeping area if you need more ceiling height)

You are also on the ground floor of the building, so very handy for bringing home shopping etc...

Brighton and Hove are very vibey places to be – although called London-on-Sea and sometimes compared to San Francisco we liken it more closely to Manhattan! Everything is SOOOO handy! And there is a BIG ‘Everything’ - Tons of culture, art and entertainment...There are theatres, a museum, the Brighton Pavilion and Palace Pier. Brighton also has an exciting festival in May - which means; open artist houses, free outdoor performances and simply TONS of theatre, music, shows and many other events.

A short bus ride or a drive will take you to the beautiful Downs where you can stroll on the South Downs Way with spectacular views over Sussex.
For a quiet night out the oldest cinema in England 'The Duke of York's' is not far to get to and shows many independent and foreign films.
Loads of opportunities to meet people... A very friendly easy going and youthful place; Brighton has been voted the UK’s Happiest City...:)
So do book - and enjoy!

About Me
I trained as a fine artist back in the 80's and then went on a long journey through the arts for more than three decades before returning to painting in 2014. My journey included an acting training, becoming a British Equity member followed by a period of making mostly independent films and working in fringe theatre. I then returned to the design element of my fine art trainig and developed and ran my own Jewellery company, I made bespoke pieces for film and music videos and sold worldwide. After a while I missed words and language and study, so I did a teachers training and taught acting for ten years in two academies in London whilst also running my own classes from my studio in Bloomsbury. I devised my own method of theatre in London ( 'INSTANT THEATRE') I taught actors and we performed shows in London and in the Brighton Festival. I won an 0-1 visa to take INSTANT THEATRE to New York in 2011 and was there for a period of 5 years. I have also developed and run my own Art's club (Klubb koSie) for singers, writors, actors, poets and stand-up comedians. I now paint and had a one-woman show of my work in Brighton in 2015. My Bloomsbury apartment has been a hub for Artists and Academics since 1999.

I lived in the loft for four full months together with my teenage son - me as a visiting researcher at UCL's IAS, him as a student at the Ecole internationale franco-anglaise. We had a wonderful time. The loft's layout saves a lot of space and it is cosy and cool all at once. It can be sometimes a bit noisy on the street but nothing too serious. The traffic is only one-way and there are mainly bicycles passing by: there is a major corridor on Tavistock place, and this was very convenient for us who used Santander cycles a lot. Diana was a kind, helpful and very reactive - an excellent host ! We will miss the loft, and the neighbourhood. Excellent Ac Trémon 1/28/2019 12:33:00 PM
Diane's loft has a perfect location for someone that is London to research or as a tourist. Being a postdoctoral researcher, it was great to be at 5' walk from the British Library and 10' from the British Museum. It's a perfect location also if someone needs to travel by train (all important train stations are around) and also for someone that loves to be at the centre of the city, and walk around. Marchmont Streets has very fine bookstores and a wonderful Waitrose. The loft has a beautiful light all day, from dayrise to sunset and it has everything one needs for a perfect stay. Diane was a very good host, easy to talk to. We would be happy to return :) Excellent Maria do Carmo Piçarra 8/23/2018 6:59:00 AM
