Calm and quiet flat in the heart of Islington, Central/North London, near all London University colleges and the British Library. Now fully booked for 2018. Watch this space for 2019!

Our flat is in the heart of Islington – a hub of excellent theatres, restaurants, cafés and gourmet food shopping, and so close to all transport you can almost fall out of bed onto a tube train. Yet the flat is extremely quiet and also very light with large south-west facing windows (double glazed) and high ceilings. It’s a purpose-built flat on the second floor of a 1890s mansion block, smartly refurbished and caringly maintained by us, an academic and retired architect.
We have one double-bedroom which can be transformed into an office/study, bathroom, separate WC, kitchen with bar-style island for quick dining. The living room / dining room has a study corner with desk and an office chair that is designed for delicate backs. There is also a Knight upright piano (plus plenty of sheet music!), as well as TV and Wifi. The flat is ideal for one or a couple.

Highbury Fields, a calm and elegant green space, is around the corner, with tennis courts for hire, and a small leisure centre (swimming pool, sauna and gym facilities).

We are a short walk from London Metropolitan University, and a one or two-stop tube hop to the British Library and UCL. All other London colleges and Universities are within easy access.

Our nearest station is Highbury and Islington, with excellent tube and overground line connections, - Oxford Circus is 8 minutes away- there are 4 bus routes right outside our door, and a further 5 just around the corner to take you almost anywhere you wish to go.

All food and household shopping is on our doorstep.

Local arts venues: Almeida Theatre, Screen on the Green cinema, The Union Chapel, King’s Head theatre, The Red Lion pub theatre. The Estorick Gallery.
Local markets: Chapel market, Camden Passage antique market.

The flat is non-smoking.

Please note: there is a second bedroom which is not available for tenants and which is locked.

About Me
I am teaching fellow and lecturer at Queen Mary, University of London. I am also a writer, editor, and linguist. Music (classical and folk) plays a huge part in my life - I play the piano and accordion, and my husband, a retired architect, plays the hurdy-gurdy. Our passions include travelling, theatre, politics, poetry and a warm social life - our friends mean a great deal to us, both here and abroad.

Looking forward to staying at this flat in July 2017. Fast, good communication with answers for the questions we had about the flat. Good experience! Excellent Sally Hadden 4/1/2017 5:46:00 PM
