Cool Loft-Style Central London Home

Our Gorgeous, Central London Loft is perfectly located for the best of the city with a chilled relaxed vibe thrown in! 8 mins from St.Pancras,3 mins from Russell Square, cheekilly positioned between The British Library & The British Museum.
Welcome to THE BEST STREET in Bloomsbury; Marchmont Street! With its history of famous artists, poets, novelists and actors who have lived here over the years this street has just about everything you need – There is the great Moreish Cafe Deli on the ground floor open from 7am to 10pm, a huge Waitrose (Supermarket) in the Brunswick across the road, Cafes, Restaurants, Pubs, Bars, combined with a lovely upbeat yet relaxed atmosphere....

The apartment is Just 2 minutes from Russell Square Tube (Piccadilly Line, Direct to and from London Heathrow Airport) Very close to the British Museum, the University of London's main campus, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Russell Square Gardens. Its location is adjacent to the fantastic Brunswick with lots of shops and cafes.. 10 minutes to Kings Cross and St. Pancras Stations with overland trains to all over the UK and the amazing Eurostar high-speed passenger rail service connecting London with Paris and Brussels. 15/20 minutes walk to Soho and London’s Fabulous Theatre and Club-Land, Great museums; The National Gallery, The National Portrait Gallery and lots of treasures to explore...

This is a really pleasant, interesting and convenient place to stay. The apartment itself is on the second floor, (That's two flights up because in the UK we have a 'Ground Floor' and then first, second..etc... Please note this If you have difficulty or worry about stairs) and is very bright and airy with lovely open plan living. A remarkably clever use of space designed by the award winning architects Sergison Bates - You will really enjoy both ‘sitting in’ and ‘looking out’ of this fantastically located building!

Central London is obviously an incredible place to be - But Marchmont St gives you all the fun without the Stress! It's very relaxed...similar to being on the Lower East Side in Manhattan... Do Note: The Building itself is a kind of shabby chic! (We are awaiting refurbishment for the common parts) It is Not pristine but it is Fine. The Loft itself, however, is cosy, clean and bright and is your HOME for the duration of your stay!

About Me
I trained as a fine artist back in the 80's and then went on a long journey through the arts for more than three decades before returning to painting in 2014. My journey included an acting training, becoming a British Equity member followed by a period of making mostly independent films and working in fringe theatre. I then returned to the design element of my fine art trainig and developed and ran my own Jewellery company, I made bespoke pieces for film and music videos and sold worldwide. After a while I missed words and language and study, so I did a teachers training and taught acting for ten years in two academies in London whilst also running my own classes from my studio in Bloomsbury. I devised my own method of theatre in London ( 'INSTANT THEATRE') I taught actors and we performed shows in London and in the Brighton Festival. I won an 0-1 visa to take INSTANT THEATRE to New York in 2011 and was there for a period of 5 years. I have also developed and run my own Art's club (Klubb koSie) for singers, writors, actors, poets and stand-up comedians. I now paint and had a one-woman show of my work in Brighton in 2015. My Bloomsbury apartment has been a hub for Artists and Academics since 1999.

I lived in the loft for four full months together with my teenage son - me as a visiting researcher at UCL's IAS, him as a student at the Ecole internationale franco-anglaise. We had a wonderful time. The loft's layout saves a lot of space and it is cosy and cool all at once. It can be sometimes a bit noisy on the street but nothing too serious. The traffic is only one-way and there are mainly bicycles passing by: there is a major corridor on Tavistock place, and this was very convenient for us who used Santander cycles a lot. Diana was a kind, helpful and very reactive - an excellent host ! We will miss the loft, and the neighbourhood. Excellent Ac Trémon 1/28/2019 12:33:00 PM
Diane's loft has a perfect location for someone that is London to research or as a tourist. Being a postdoctoral researcher, it was great to be at 5' walk from the British Library and 10' from the British Museum. It's a perfect location also if someone needs to travel by train (all important train stations are around) and also for someone that loves to be at the centre of the city, and walk around. Marchmont Streets has very fine bookstores and a wonderful Waitrose. The loft has a beautiful light all day, from dayrise to sunset and it has everything one needs for a perfect stay. Diane was a very good host, easy to talk to. We would be happy to return :) Excellent Maria do Carmo Piçarra 8/23/2018 6:59:00 AM
