About Me
Adriano Aymonino: I am a senior lecturer and Director of Undergraduate Programmes in the Department of History of Art at the University of Buckingham. My main interest is the reception of the classical tradition in the Early Modern period. I have curated several exhibitions, such as ‘Drawn from the Antique: Artists and the Classical Ideal’, held at the Sir John Soane’s Museum in London in 2015. I am currently working on my book on the patronage of the 1st Duke and Duchess of Northumberland (Yale); on a revised edition of Francis Haskell and Nicholas Penny’s Taste and the Antique (Yale); and on a critical edition of Robert Adam's Grand Tour correspondence (adamgrandtour.online). Silvia Davoli: I am Curator at Strawberry Hill Museum and Research Associate at Oxford University, Faculty of History. My main interest is in European collecting and taste during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. I have curated several exhibitions, such as the recent ‘Strawberry Hill Lost Treasures: Masterpieces from the Horace Walpole Collection’, 2018. I am Research Associate at Oxford University, where I am collaborating on the AHRC project ‘Jewish Country Houses – Objects, Networks and People’. I am currently working on a book on Henri Cernuschi’s art collections in Paris (Brill) and on the forthcoming exhibition, ‘The Women of Strawberry Hill’.
