1 bed. classical architecture/London Square/Hyde Park/Oxford Street./British Libary/ London University. .

This is a large bright lower ground floor flat for one or two people in an excellent location, in one the most gracious Garden Squares with classical architecture and mature plane trees in the very centre of London's metropolis. It is quiet at night (our now rarely seen urban fox still patrols his square) but surrounded by all urban amenities and excellent and varied public transport very near, though from here at Marble arch one can walk to many places. It is comfortably furnished with everything you might find in a normal home and because we live here we can bring over anything else you might need.
The rent includes all taxes utilities internet etc. except a monthly charge of £30 for cleaning.
We are near a Park and Ride bicycle rack.
The house is dated 1821 with the old cast iron cooking range (alas no longer working). The bathroom and eat-in kitchen are new, the latter leading by French Windows onto a very small yard. Even so we must request, for the sake of subsequent tenants, that very strong spices are not cooked. We also go out to eat a good curry! During much of 19th Cent. it was the home of Albany Fonblanque a publisher and editor of the magasine "The Examiner". William Makepeace Thackery lived nearby and he and many other famous 19th Cent writers like Dickens and other notable people would gather here. I like to feel that I write this from his small sunny study.

My wife and I spent a wonderful two weeks in this delightful, quiet ground-floor flat in the middle of London. It is very well appointed with everything you could need for a short stay; and is ingeniously designed to maximise the use of space. Rima is an excellent host, and provided us with lots of useful information before our arrival. Highly recommended! Excellent Alan 8/11/2019 2:00:00 PM
I stayed here between September and October 2017. The flat itself was beautiful with a very bookish and cultured ambience. Comfortable bed, everything working fine, and the location is fantastic. Hosts live upstairs are very pleasant and interesting people who made my stay even better. Excellent Victoria 1/15/2018 7:53:00 PM
Our stay in Rima and John's lovely two bedroom apartment was wonderful. We wish we were still there and hope to return. The flat is like it's described, but even better and Rima and John are attentive, friendly, and helpful landlords. The location of this flat, across from an entrance to Hyde Park, five minutes from the start of Oxford Street, the Marble Arch tube stop on the Central Line and less than a 15 minute walk to Paddington Station is ideal. Once inside the gated community of St. George's Fields, you'd never know you're in the heart of central London. All you hear is birds and all you see is the beautiful park-like grounds/gardens that are kept immaculately. The flat, itself, has everything you could need including large items like a well-equipped kitchen, laundry, and printer to smaller things you'll need like a wheeler to take to the supermarket (just a 7 minute walk up Edgeware Road to Waitrose) to a drying rack for clothes that don't go in the dryer and herbs growing on the balcony to use in your cooking. Indeed, if you find you need something that isn't in the flat, Rima and John will be happy to get it for you. We asked about a clock radio for the main bedroom and one appeared the next day. I needed a quiche pan for the kitchen and Rima found one for me. I truly can't say enough about how lucky we felt to have found the perfect spot for our sabbatical stay in London. Thanks Rima and John! Excellent Donald Weber 6/13/2016 6:32:00 AM
This flat is amazing and the owners even more so. This is a lovely flat with a very nice kitchen and beautiful bathroom. My sister slept well on the converted couch for a week. Rima and John are terrific hosts. I'll be staying here again if it's available. Location can't be beat. Simply outstanding.

Wish I was back here. Spent the first half of 2015 living in this charming flat. Lovely clean 2 bedroom place. Wonderful terrace and views out to the magnificent communal gardens. Our landlady and landlord were the very best you could ask for. Checked often that all was ok and fixed any issues that arose (lightbulb replacement etc.). Helpful in guiding us around the area too. Fabulous position, across the road from Hyde Park and easy access to all public transport. Fantastic! Excellent Elizabeth ONeill 8/18/2015 3:39:00 PM
