2 bedroom flat in Art Deco 1930s building in leafy North London

Please Note: Our flat is available for long-stays from 01 Dec 2020 onwards (3 months or more).

The rent includes internet; Netflix TV; and utilities such as water, gas, and electricity but EXCLUDES the local Council Tax.

Welcome to our spacious, comfortable, quiet, well-furnished, and centrally heated 2 bedroom flat in historical North London! It is available for visiting academics or professionals and family. Our flat is baby and child friendly, as is the neighbourhood.

We live on a quiet street in one of the nicest areas in north London. The peaceful Parkland Walk is just up the street, parks are abound in the area, the Hornsey Library is very close by, we have two indie cinemas in Crouch End, and there are many unique cafes and local shops to visit.

If you have children, we have a number of excellent schools in the neighbourhood, all within walking distance.

One bus (Route 91) takes you to the British Library (30-35 min), LSE, SOAS, UCL, Birkbeck, and many other central London institutions in about 45-50 minutes. We are also a 5 min bus ride to the Piccadilly Line/Victoria Line @ Finsbury Park station. The Crouch Hill London Overground station is a short walk away.

The flat is located on the second floor of a 1930s purpose built apartment building (13 flats altogether). As you will need to take the stairs, the flat may not be appropriate for those with mobility concerns.

The main bedroom has a queen-sized bed and a large built-in wardrobe, chest of drawers, and desk. The second bedroom is a single. Presently it is a 6-year old's room. We also have a pullout couch in the living room.

We have high-speed wireless broadband connection and unlimited usage. There is a large HD Sony TV and stereo. We have 'Roku' (internet TV) for watching internet television (but no cablevision), with a subscription to Netflix for on-demand TV. There's an HDMI cable so you can also link your computer up to the TV and stream shows.

The sitting room has a dining table that seats up to six people.

The kitchen is large, functional, featuring a warm wooden countertop. It has a full size fridge/freezer, electric oven, gas hob/stove top, and dishwasher. There is also a clothes washer and electric dryer. The bathroom is newly renovated and in immaculate condition, features a deluge quadrant shower (but no bathtub).

The flat is fully furnished and stocked with a good range of household items. This includes pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, stovetop espresso maker, and so on. There are plenty of linens, blankets, and towels. We also leave a good selection of our books, including a number of reference, maps, history, and 'walking' books for London.

Please note this is a non-smoking home indoors (friends smoke out on the walkway/entranceway) and pets cannot be accommodated. We do not allow parties.

Local council tax is EXCLUDED from the rent (about £140/month extra). You can pay the Council directly and we can pay it for you and add it onto the rent.

You can also book our home through Airbnb for roughly the same price (we'll adjust it to near this level -- but Airbnb charges its own commissions, which you pay on your end). You can view it and our 100% positive reviews at: https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/6053933

Over the years we have rented our home out long-term to several visiting American, Canadian, Finnish, Italian, and French academics and graduate students. All have had wonderful experiences here.
