The area is a residential area, with excellent transport links to central London that is less than half an hour away. We are between three large green spaces. Queens Woods and Highgate Woods are on the doorstep for walks & jogging, Alexandra Palace, is a short stroll from the house.

The property is located about 10 minute walk or two stops bus ride (134/ 43 bus routes) to Highgate Underground (Northern Line) and a short walk to Muswell Hill Broadway and Crouch End with supermarkets and lots of charming independent cafes, restaurants, greengrocers, bakeries and clothes boutiques. 50 minutes by taxi from Heathrow, Luton and Stansted airport.

ABOUT MUSWELL HILL: Close to Alexandra Park and Highgate Woods, with a village atmosphere and mainly Edwardian buildings. Muswell Hill has developed from the staid suburb it was in the 1950s to become fashionable with a host of trendy bars, restaurants, coffee shops and delicatessens.
Muswell Hill Broadway and Fortis Green Road, the main shopping streets, still maintain their historic character with most of the original facades preserved above street level. Some parts have spectacular views over London, and the area is home to a large number of actors, journalists and other media people. There is also a weekly farmers' market at the foot of Muswell Hill in Alexandra Park. The cinema is art deco, built in the 1930s.

I am an artist who lives and works in Muswell Hill, a beautiful and leafy area of London. We live upstairs and the flat is a contemporary 1 bed flat , airy & bright independent from our house with a completely separate entrance. I love travelling, enjoy meeting people and learn about different cultures. The location has excellent transport links to central London. It is also a very nice and friendly, safe place to hang out with a village atmosphere with a host of trendy bars, restaurants, coffee shops and delicatessens.

This is the definition of oasis. The space is heavenly; the owner is kind and helpful and generally one of those humans that makes the planet better; and the neighborhood is idyllic. I've stayed in multiple spaces in London, and this one is extraordinary. It's perfect for one, probably great for 2. It has everything you need--both inside and outside. Quiet, secure.

I don't drive, and this is incredibly walkable (because it’s a hill, it wouldn’t be great for limited mobility)--everything you need. Plus a cinema. Charity shops. Organic Planet. Rymans. Three walkable gyms to choose from. The neighborhood gives you a different sense of London; you commute into Central London (par for the course) with bus/Tube--while preserving a sense of calm and serenity that parks and woods bring. There's a *tyre/rope swing* for god's sake in the Parkland walk. Dogs romp.

The flat is aesthetically gorgeous. Pristine, tons of closet space, washer/dryer.

Ah, and the flat has a gorgeous little back garden area where you can take your coffee and bask. It’s. The. Best.

Two of us stayed for 6 weeks and had a wonderful time. The basement flat is clean, stylishly decorated, and very good value considering London's expensive rental market. The flat is perfectly located half way between Highgate tube station and Muswell Hill high street with lots of shops and restaurants. The neighbourhood is one of the nicest places to stay anywhere in London. Highgate Wood is a great local park for a walk or to go jogging after a day of writing. Other things? My husband and I stayed in this beautifully designed and decorated Muswell Hill apartment for one month while visiting our daughter in London and we loved it. Everything about the apartment worked extremely well. Muswell Hill area is a quiet neighbourhood that we enjoyed exploring. It is close to shopping, to convenient transportation links by bus and tube, to wonderful parks for walking (Parkland Walk, Highgate Woods, Alexandra Palace) and to weekend markets. The apartment itself is very well laid out, with quality appliances, loads of storage and everything you could need for daily living over an extended period of time. Best of all though, was the warm welcome and ongoing availability of the hosts to help with any queries we had. My wife and I stayed at this apartment for 2 months while relocating to London. We are delighted we stayed here as it was an excellent experience. Alicia and her husband are great hosts: friendly, accommodating, professional, and respectful of privacy. The apartment itself is clean, very comfortable, and stocked with all the kitchen appliances and gadgets one needs to feel at home. The area, Musell Hill, is beautiful and has good markets and transport links (it is also pretty hilly, which is fine for most people but maybe something to consider if you have mobility issues). My wife and I spent five wonderful months in this delightful flat together with our 2 year old daughter. We all loved the place, very much enjoyed our time there, and are so grateful for all of Alicia’s and Isaac’s hospitality! The flat is beautifully set-up, in pristine condition, with many helpful features: ample storage space, a fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, wonderful wooden floors, and double sliding doors between the bedroom and the kitchen. Being in the basement it is quiet, peaceful and private. A great bonus is that there was also always plenty of light, especially with the access to the charming back garden patio. We were there in the winter and it was always warm and cosy. The location is ideal! Highgate tube is 15 min walking distance and there is also direct access to the lively centres of both Muswell Hill and Crouch End. You will be close to all kinds of good shops, great cafes and excellent dining. Also Queens Wood and Highgate Wood are right around the corner and Priory Park and Alexandra Park are also in pleasant walking distance. We highly recommend this flat and our wonderful hosts to anyone looking for the perfect North London experience!
